• Keep. This could be a useful topic if appropriately researched and cited. I have added some detail to make it a little more substantial, but I only grabbed the low-hanging fruit from a Google search. • Keep but preferably move to Timeline of protests against Barack Obama for that most accurately describes the content of the article, if needed, we could suggest a split. Sources are a separate issue and there is no need for deletion. • Keep and I like the idea proposed by Champion to move to Timeline of protests against Barack Obama. Protests against Obama did happen and anyone researching the subject of protests (esp in the wake of Timeline of protests against Donald Trump) should have a similar article for comparison.   • "Timeline..." would make it harder to find. It's chronological, which seems reasonable for an historic topic, but it's also fairly new. A more general title of Protests against Barack Obama provides more room for development. Jack N. Stock ( talk) 00:32, 3 February 2017 (UTC) reply

          • Well, so actually I created the Trump protest timeline on January 21, and one reason I created it (and why Wikipedians support it being kept) is because the main protest article got so big, so it's in order to clean the main protest article, in addition to providing another way of looking at the list of protests. Also, a timeline allows for smaller protests to be included. I think having both articles is reasonable if this article gets *really* long, but I don't think it will. Anyways, I also just highlighted a reason to not rename this article to "Timeline of ..."; namely, the Trump protests article existed before the Trump protests timeline article, which *I* made, and I don't think is appropriate for Obama, for now. - Ethanbas ^talk 05:26, 5 February 2017 (UTC) reply

            • If it is changed to "Timeline of..." it will remain a chronological list. Leave it at the current name space and it has a chance to develop into an actual article. Nobody is going to develop themes in a timeline or creatively rearrange it. It will stunt the development. I think the current structure is a good way to start, but not a good place to finish.               • After seeing the arguments by Ethanbas and Jacknstock, I think I understand where you're both going with this. The reason we have two Trump articles is because of the size. I think I like Jacknstock's suggestion that we wait and see if/when the article needs a separate timeline section. That way the article can develop beyond a list. Existing articles (such as Tea Party protests and protests against the Libyan War) adequately cover the protests that occurred against Obama, but it would be good to have a list of all of the protests.
