The result was keep. Clear consensus to keep; this WP:SNOWBALL is rolling so going ahead and closing it early. I'll note that moving the article to Sharkey Ward might well be worth considering per WP:COMMONNAME (i.e. the " Bill Clinton, not William" principle). - The Bushranger One ping only 06:25, 4 December 2015 (UTC) The Bushranger One ping only 06:25, 4 December 2015 (UTC) reply

Fails WP:SOLDIER, WP:GNG and WP:BIO. He got a short article in The Telegraph [1] and a bit in The Guardian [2] but that's about it except for passing mentions. Clarityfiend ( talk) 05:23, 2 December 2015 (UTC) reply

  • Keep much of the coverage is hard to find, but it exists. Antrocent ( ♫♬) 06:02, 2 December 2015 (UTC) reply
  • Comment - is it possible he qualifies as a soldier? Fewer than 100 have received the Distinguished Service Cross (United Kingdom) since WWII. The rarity of that kind of honor increases notability. He has a very common name, making it a bit tricky to find sources. Мандичка YO 😜 08:03, 2 December 2015 (UTC) reply
  • Keep. Ward does not qualify by his rank or decorations. However, he did become a well-known figure during and after the Falklands War and has plenty of coverage. -- Necrothesp ( talk) 14:42, 2 December 2015 (UTC) reply

  • Keep. Ward is an important figure in the Falklands War, which itself is an important part of British military history. His role as a commander and leader was critical to the British success and he is essentially the only fighter pilot from that war who is well known.
