The result was delete. Ordinarily I would hesitate to delete based on this but I’m taking the arguments from the last afd inti account and the fact that in 3 weeks no one is interested in defending the existence of this article. Spartaz Humbug! 10:00, 10 April 2022 (UTC) reply

Non-notable person, article resulting from a lot of the subject's self-publicism, see comments below for detailed discussion Elemimele ( talk) 10:19, 19 March 2022 (UTC) reply

  • This article was nominated for deletion in July 2021 (not by me, though I was involved in the debate). Mbondiah runs a very small, run-of-the-mill business in provision of care, and has undertaken a few small business and charitable activities in Zimbabwe, as well as raising awareness of women's issues. Her businesses have generally been very small, often failed; her charitable activities are similar and difficult to confirm, and she fails to meet notability as an author. But she is excellent at self-promotion, which I think hoodwinked the article's creator, and derailed the last AfD. She has got herself nominated for a lot of awards of the sort run by organisations who make their profit by selling seats at awards ceremonies; she has claimed awards in interviews that have names similar to existing awards, but cannot be traced, and last time we had to go to quite a lot of work to weed out stuff that didn't exist, or differentiate between nominations and awards. She produces a lot of google-hits but it's all interviews, articles in local newspapers that were probably commissioned by the subject, facebook pages, and youtube interviews.
  • In detail, the "Womanhood Global Magazine" existed, but we need independent evidence that enough people actually read it for it to contribute notability. It doesn't seem to exist any more. Momentors existed: "Momentors Leading women Ltd." was a company registered by Maureen Mbondiah in May 2020 with assets of £1, dissolved by compulsory strike-off in Oct 2021. Contributing to Ruth Strutten's book doesn't make her notable; 300 people contributed to that book! "Tales of Womanhood" is self-published via a print-on-demand self-publishing organisation. The "Against all odds" charity based in the UK of which she's patron is bothering me, because I can't find it, only a similarly-named "Against all odds still standing" which does not appear to be anything to do with Maureen Mbondiah. There is no charity registered in the UK as "Against all odds", only a facebook page. I think maybe the article has accidentally piggy-backed its notability off the wrong charity. I can find no independent evidence that the orphanage is functioning. Which leaves us with one small shopping centre, a minor talk-show with no secondary sources to indicate anyone listened, and 5 awards, two of which she didn't win, and all of which are borderline at best.
  • I'm sorry to have written a wall of text. The problem is that with Maureen Mbondiah, it is in the detail that her notability fails, so we have to check the details. Elemimele ( talk) 10:43, 19 March 2022 (UTC) reply
