  • Comment: It looks like some sources might exist on the French WP for the movie... Any thoughts? Kolma8 ( talk) 15:51, 28 January 2021 (UTC) reply
  • Well, Mikio Naruse is starting to be appreciated again. This film is certainly his ( Mikio Naruse on Films Asia) so we definitely need this at least to be a redirect, and preferably a short article. The article does in fact have three citations (iMDb, AllMovie, and Japanese Movie Database), which is a start. I suspect searches in Japanese would be fruitful if anyone could offer that service (might have a go with Chrome and see what happens). Chiswick Chap ( talk) 15:59, 28 January 2021 (UTC) reply
  • I agree with Naruse's appreciation, I wrote some articles on his films myself, but I couldn't find any source regarded "reliable" here, which is no wonder due to its "lost" status. On the other hand, I see no point leaving it in its present sub-stub state. I disagree with a redirect, btw. I think listing it in the filmography in the Naruse article is sufficient. • Redirect to Mikio Naruse#Filmography. No, I don't agree. Redirects are cheap, and a search for the film title is perfectly reasonable; it should be rewarded by arriving at the Filmography, so a redirect is the correct solution. Chiswick Chap ( talk) 18:49, 28 January 2021 (UTC) reply
  • Deletion. I doubt that an average user will use Wikipedia search for a "lost film" before reading its title in the director's filmography. With a redirect, you get an infinite circle filmography > film title link > redirect > filmography etc. Or at least, the redirecting link should be omitted in the Naruse filmography and in the Naruse template to prevent this. (Hope it's clear what I meant.) Robert Kerber ( talk) 19:37, 28 January 2021 (UTC) reply
