Keep As said above. He may not need the specifics of
WP:ATHLETE, however he meets the
WP:GNG which superseeds the specific guideline.--

Keep Basketball is one sport in which players can receive national attention at the high school level, largely because the best seniors will end up in the NBA after a year or two. John Wall has received a substantial amount of media attention, and there's more out there than what is currently cited in the article.

Comment. It's very interesting to compare this AfD with
this one. As policy and guidelines are supposed to reflect practice I propose that we should say in
WP:ATHLETE that North American sports are subject to completely different standards from those in the rest of the world.

I'd prefer to keep that article, too, based on
this. That said, I don't really follow soccer, and the WP:FOOTY people seem to have their own established standards, so I'll probably just let that AFD proceed without me.
