She was apparently interested in horse racing, but I fail to see how she was
notable in any way whatsoever.

Keep. She cropped up in the newspapers and on television from time to time as an associate of the Royal Family (
this kind of thing). Her funeral was covered by the
Court Circular in The Times. The files of the
National Portrait Gallery, London have
an entry on her. She only became "Lady Kennard" late in life, through her second marriage, so other search terms might turn up more (such as
this from Country Life). --
