Delete – Sorry, but as the nominator pointed out; “…. a man who was known and respected in his community, but not beyond”. Looked and could only find one significant reference source
[1] which as it turns out to be just a long obituary. ShoesssSTalk 15:10, 29 June 2017 (UTC)reply
Keep There is at least one other source.

Comment Yes, there is that source. I'm on the fence about that. First, it's an encyclopedia of art and history of Arkansas; one might reasonably expect to find listed there any Arkansas artist. Second, the present article is such a
close paraphrase of that source as to border on
copyright violation.

Comment Hatfield was a teacher at UCA, so his presence among their collection cannot be wholly attributed to their independent assessment of his artistic merit.

Keep per
WP:PROF#C5 (the distinguished professor title). And the local-news obituaries
[4][5] don't really contribute to notability themselves, but they mean we have sufficient sourced content for an article. —

CommentWP:PROF#C5 requires that the subject be a distinguished professor or hold a named chair at a major institution of higher education and research. No offense to them, but I don't think the
University of Central Arkansas qualifies.
