Article fails WP:GNG with reception section being entirely trivial mentions and no substantive mentions of the character in reliable sources.

Most of the references in the reception are single sentence mentions from reviews or entries in listicles (UGO Networks ranked C. Viper at #21 on their list of "Fighting Games' Finest Female Fighters") What?

The rest of it such as development material is largely primary-sourced and not indicative of notability. ZXCVBNM ( TALK) 06:39, 3 January 2021 (UTC) reply

  • Weak keep. I disagree with the nominator's subjective assertion that there are no substantive mentions of the character in reliable sources. The issue to consider is whether the subject has garnered enough significant coverage to warrant a standalone article. In this instance, given the article's state of sourcing, a merge proposal would be more appropriate then a proposal for outright deletion if there is concern about whether the topic warrants a standalone article. It's a borderline for me, but per WP:NEXIST, a few sources I have found which is not used in the article. Coverage range from substantial to incidental:

A few more, though they are structured in listicle format:

I don't believe any of the sources, on their own, could justify the existence of a standalone article, though per WP:Basic, if the depth of coverage in any given source is not substantial, then multiple independent sources may be combined to demonstrate notability. • The book mention is decent but pretty small and only makes a single paragraph really. I don't see a lot of "significant mentions" so I will retain my nomination. ZXCVBNM ( TALK) 14:11, 3 January 2021 (UTC) reply
  • Redirect - Most of the sources in the article seem to fall under trivial coverage. Of what speaks of the character more than briefly, there does not appear to be enough sources to meet WP:GNG. TTN ( talk) 17:00, 3 January 2021 (UTC) reply
  • Redirect for now - I'm not a fan of the whole "listicles" mindset as long as list entries actually say something and offer reception, but admittedly a lot of these don't seem to and are just there. If it could be bulked back up with some proper research I think it'd be fine but for the time being there's just not enough here for an article that wouldn't fit fine in a character list instead.-- Kung Fu Man ( talk) 18:45, 3 January 2021 (UTC) reply
  • Redirect as per WP:GNG and WP:RS concerns. Lord Sjones23 ( talk - contributions) 06:49, 6 January 2021 (UTC) reply
