Non-notable supercentenarian. Keeping a pulse for an unusual length of time is not notable, and right now there's no significant coverage of this guy. The Blade of the Northern Lights ( 話して下さい) 01:17, 4 September 2019 (UTC) reply

  • Delete/Redirect to appropriate list. Fails WP:GNG as there is no significant coverage. WP:NOPAGE should apply as this article can't be expanded beyond "born, worked, has kids and grandkids, and got old". CommanderLinx ( talk) 01:28, 4 September 2019 (UTC) reply

  • Delete As per nom, and CommanderLinx. Not notable enough to justify a page, and insufficient encyclopedic material to justify a mini-bio. No bias against resurrection of article in a few more years if he's still living and there is more significant press coverage. DerbyCountyinNZ ( Talk Contribs) 05:03, 4 September 2019 (UTC) reply
To be sure, it's entirely possible he could become notable for his longevity at some later point; he just isn't right now. The Blade of the Northern Lights ( 話して下さい) 22:34, 4 September 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Delete - this one's really quite WP:ROTM. WP:NOPAGE doesn't apply as there's enough here for a stand-alone article, but the subject simply doesn't pass WP:BIO1E. Were he to become the oldest living man or oldest living person, rather than just the oldest in Japan, well, we'd be in WP:BIO2E territory, and an article should be retained. schetm ( talk) 06:44, 4 September 2019 (UTC) reply
I have no objection to a redirect. schetm ( talk) 03:58, 6 September 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Delete and redirect to List of Japanese supercentenarians, where Mr. Watanabe is mentioned as the currently oldest living Japanese man. Not much to add about his life indeed. — JFG talk 11:40, 4 September 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Delete Not notable and List of Japanese supercentenarians can cover necessary info/details about him. -- Wario-Man ( talk) 12:42, 4 September 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Delete as per the General notability guideline and comments by users JFG and Wario-Man. – Tommy Kronkvist ( talk), 01:28, 5 September 2019 (UTC). reply
  • Delete - As per nom, not any coverage outside Japan. - MA Javadi ( talk) 17:55, 5 September 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Redirect as suggested. Bearian ( talk) 18:46, 5 September 2019 (UTC) reply
  • Redirect Everyone has made good arguments against him having his own article, but his information should still be kept somewhere as he is, after all, Japan's oldest man. For what it's worth, the world's oldest man doesn't have his own article right now so redirecting Japan's oldest man to the List of Japanese supercentenarians seems more consistent.
