Hi there, any chance you could take the protection level on Planking (fad) from full to semi? The only vandalism on the article is from IPs/non-autoconfirmed and the recent spamming issue was also by a non-autoconfirmed user (plus that user, Econroy56 ( talk · contribs), is now indef-blocked anyway). I don't see any sort of edit war that justifies full protection, but feel free to correct me if I've missed anything. Cheers, Jenks24 ( talk) 06:36, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
I have removed the file from the only article in which it resides in an effort to reduce the number of logos floating about. I have no issue with it being deleted. Cheers. Cjmclark ( Contact) 21:37, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
I've asked a user to create an .svg file of the same Embleem, so since this has been created and replaced in the relevant article we don't need the non-free .jpg version any more. Thank you. Alexikoua ( talk) 06:20, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for your courtesy message at my talk page about File:Book cover psherick of punch ed david taylor, 1998 I think I will check later.JPG.I was struggling here with the scanner to get four book covers of Pick of Punch uploaded, for inclusion into the EN:WP article Punch (magazine). It seems (I think) only one succeeded, this one, and I think that is suitable to add to the article as a fair-use illustration of a book cover (though even then not sure, since the cartoonist probably has copyright).
I hope you accept my good faith in doing this, but if you have any doubts about it being copyright, better to delete it.

Please delete as I found a better version of said logo. NoseNuggets ( talk) 3:36 AM US EDT July 28 2011
Hi there,
I received your note and thank you for the information. Although I do work for Spacial, reading the information on the SAM Broadcaster page will make it clear that the only thing I did was update the information. I'm not sure when the SAM Broadcaster page was created, but the information that was on the Wiki page was inaccurate and outdated. The copy that's there does not have a promotional feel nor does it state anything that is not factual. I understand how Wikipedia works, and I have no intention of infringing upon readers' experience with a corporate bias.
As for the image, it represents how our products look now. The image that was there before was an old image with an old logo that is no longer used. I entered this image into the article without knowing exactly under which clause to enter it. I saw that there was a logo option, so I selected it. If there is a more appropriate way of adding such an image, please let me know and I will be happy to comply.
Many thanks,

I would like to redirect people from Alastair Carr or Alastair Robert Carr to my user page, User: AlastairRonaldo. I tried to create an autobiography but was told that it was highly not recommended. If people know a page is by the user, because of the title, can I still redirect people to my autobiography?
This was on 03:27, 12 November 2009 that you deleted my autobiography.
Thank you for your time improving Wikipedia
Alastair Carr ( talk) 09:34, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, I didn't mean hyper-links from Facebook, etc. What do you call the links which link you from one article to another article? I was meaning putting the link 'Alastair Carr', into an article, which linked people to my user page. My autobiography is on my user: page. Thank you. Alastair Carr ( talk) 11:12, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

I have been speaking to the page owner and am awiating my account to edit that page.
I do not know what copyright authorization is needed by that account, any information on that would be greatful, thanks.
I was using my talk page for testing, is there a better place to conduct test?

Hi, can you explain me the deletion of File talk:Norwegian-road-sign-757.svg and File talk:Norwegian-road-sign-757.svg? I really don't know what was on the image file, but the talkpage was correctly marked with the AFC banner. (was there a file uploaded?) mabdul 12:31, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I am creating an article for a school course I'm taking. The topic is the charity Whatever It Takes. The article is currently in my user space, but I'm supposed to go live with it on Thursday. I was just wondering how I can use two images in the article (the logo of the charity and a picture of one of their products), without them getting deleted due to copyrights. I'm having a lot of trouble understanding the copyright situations laid out in the instructional pages. Thanks so much, Steadybongo — Preceding unsigned comment added by Steadybongo ( talk • contribs) 18:21, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
How is it an inappropriately licensed picture? I have direct authorisation from Joey Diaz & Felicia Michaels to use that image for this purpose and provided all the proper details. I am extremely angered that you have deleted the image, it took a great deal of time to re-edit the page. The image does not violate any copyrights as the copyright holder is listed , along with the reference and the Joeydiaz.jpg file you recommended to replace it is not available? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Oli kolbas ( talk • contribs) 05:02, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the 'heads up' regarding the orphaned images. Someone had blanked the page that they were used on, and now that this edit has been reverted, there is no longer any reason to delete them. — Mike : tlk 15:24, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

This file is NOT a direct copy from http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/globalmusic4life1. We, at GlobalMusic4 Life, created and own the image entirely and provided it as the album cover TO CDBaby - Not the other way around. You have deleted a copyright image that we own. We need it restored immediately. I have sent emails as specified, but still it was deleted. Hi SD, I've been a bit inactive and I'm just now working through my talk page's archives. I saw your message and wanted to let you know that I did a database query to re-create the list. The list is a bit old (from July 25), so I can re-generate it if you wish. It's in tab-seperated format, so if you need me to re-format it, just give me a buzz. The results (10,065 lines; 385kb) are here. Cheers! Tim 1357 talk 14:38, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi, Image "NVDA OrgStructure.png" that I had uploaded got deleted. I understand that it was because of improper LIcensing information. The information in that image was obtained from the public domain website http://www.nvda.nic.in/os.htm
The image is a chart of the organization structure of NVDA. I had redrawn it using the information available in the website. However since its only an organization chart, there was not any change that I could make in the picture. Could you please let me know if this is inline with the Wikipedia Copyright policy?
Gyan4u ( talk) 00:39, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
I will try sending them a request for releasing the chart under common license using the template given in OTRS. However, being a government body, I do not expect a prompt reply from their side. Also its not clear who is the copyright owner. Please forgive my ignorance, but what is normally done in such cases? Isn't there a way to include the data in my post? Would it be okay if I created a table out of the hierarchy, ans posted it in the article? Gyan4u ( talk) 13:55, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I will put it up as a table for now.

Hullo! :-) Would you mind making a null edit to File:Office.jpg for me? It's showing up here when it shouldn't. You also might want to add the protection to File:File-Black and white.jpg as well. (That may need a null edit as well afterwards to get it out of the category linked above.) Thanks! Avic ennasis @ 16:35, 6 Av 5771 / 6 August 2011 (UTC)
You added a resolution reduction request for File:Frederica von Stade - Mahler Songs - Album Cover.jpg, stating that it was a copyright violation. The copy which I originally uploaded is already significantly reduced in resolution compared to the original, and the manufacturer's catalog number is virtually illegible. Thus it seemed to me to be unlikely that that copy would be confused with the original and could be used for deliberate copyright infringement. This was the criterion I used when I uploaded the scanned copy. The further reduction in resolution which you requested has now removed additional identifying information from the image, specifically the name of the orchestra has become illegible. I realize these things are a judgment call, but is it really necessary to reduce the resolution of the image to this degree to meet the fair use criteria? Perhaps a resolution intermediate between the bot produced image, and the original which I uploaded would be satisfactory to both of us. -- Robert.Allen ( talk) 21:31, 6 August 2011 (UTC)
Can you restore this article ? It was deleted before the book what published. The book has now been published and is a bestseller with an article in the main section of this week's Sunday Times I guess it will need tagging to say it needs updating though ! I am unsure why other companies listed on the "list of companies in Colorado" list have their own pages, yet the Corporate Housing by Owner page was deleted. Here is the page where Corporate Housing by Owner is listed and a link that leads to NO content. We thought we were being useful in adding that content so Wikipedia didn't lead people to a dead end. Other companies on that list have pages that they link to. We used references and were still adding to the page. I'm new to Wikipedia, but I do think companies have a right to post factual information about themselves when their links lead to dead ends. Can you please advise how to get this page back live? Thank you for your help with this. Redjeweled ( talk) 15:23, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Jenny
I have received this image from Asim Mukhopadhyay and Indian mountaineer who was the main organizer of the Tirsuli peak expedition. I have got a written permission from him to publish a few images owned by him on Wikipedia. You can refer ticket 2011072910000724 which was created for another image though, but has permission for Tirsuli_Group.jpg file also. Can you please refer that and re-publish the image?
Can I upload the file again and add the ticket number in the description? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Susantab ( talk • contribs) 16:51, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
This edit you made to the template {{ Age in years and days/years}} added whitespace and broke it, for instance used here in John Paul II. It's full-protected so I can't fix it myself. Elizium23 ( talk) 04:14, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi. I notice your size reduction request: {{Non-free reduce}} at File:Chrysander15HandelSonatas1879Forward.gif. For my own understanding, could you explain why this is needed for the image in question (noting that the image is from a 1879 publication and is 26 KB in size)? Thanks. GFHandel ♬ 03:04, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I saw that you made a size reduction request for the "Animorphs Aliens" poster I uploaded. I'd like to contest this suggestion (as I did on the image's talk page) because if the picture of the poster was any smaller, you wouldn't be able to read the words! dogman15 ( talk) 04:21, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I made an effort to salvage File:Bobraydrucker.jpg and felt I did not succeed. Further reduction will render the image and text as worthless. The image is not sharp and the text is barely readable as it is right now. Pepso2 ( talk) 05:15, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi Skier Dude! I noticed you tagged with a size-reduction-request template. Just wanted to let you know that the current image is drastically reduced from the original (it's a variant of this [3] (bottom right) that I released at that same resolution (ie: near-print resolution)). Anyway, I don't particularly care either way... it's fine at it's current reduced resolution - or at a smaller one. Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/ CN 06:16, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Dude, you screwed up the references! (Sorry, had to say it that way). Seriously, please don't name them, I know it seems an odd way to go, but it is a standard, and naming them makes them harder to maintain. -- Nuujinn ( talk) 11:20, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi there, I'm semi-randomly asking users if they would be interested in helping me with my research on Wikipedia. I am writing a dissertation on Wikipedia as part of my undergraduate course at the University of Cambridge. The results will almost certainly not be published to the public, and participants will be anonymous if requested. What I am asking is for you to complete a questionnaire with a number of general, subjective questions about your experiences working on Wikipedia, for example concerning Wikipedia's culture, your motivation in participating and so on. It should take 10-20 minutes. Much more information is available if you are interested. Please reply here or on my talk page. Thanks! I really appreciate any time you can give!
