HIM

Hi. I have little intrest in the HIM article, i only ventured to its disambiguation page when i was accused of editing it under an anon (ironically by a user who was suspected of using anons to impersonate me). Ive noticed that going through the disambiguation pages history, and that of the HIM articles history, that both articles recieve a lot of edits over what i have been informed is content dispute.

I was wondering if this page should be protected from anons and new users editing it to stem this wave of conflicting edits and to start discussion on the talk page, as this seems to be a recurring problem. Ley Shade 06:04, 30 April 2006 (UTC) reply

Hi Shanel. I've got a question about French monobooks for you. I've been trying to get myself a monobook, and so I stole Your French Wikipedia one, having very little clue about what monobook/js actually does. I set up my Own monobook.js (a word for word identical copy of your one ;) ), and wondered what do I need to do to make it work? And why doesn't my monobook have the "Note : Après avoir sauvegardé, vous devez forcer le rechargement de la page pour voir les changements : Mozilla / Konqueror / Firefox : Shift-Ctrl-R, IE / Opera : Ctrl-F5, Safari : Cmd-R" banner at the top of the page? I pressed Ctrl F5 to refresh it. Anyway, I'll probably just modify it a bit to make it suit me. If you can spare a few wikiminutes I'd appreciate it. -- Won der fool 12:00, 6 May 2006 (UTC) Nevermind anymore, I stole someone else's monobook. -- Won der fool 12:21, 6 May 2006 (UTC) reply

Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #3

The Administrator Coaching program is a program aimed at preparing Wikipedians for Adminship or helping them understand the intricacies of Wikipedia better. Recently, changes have been made to the requirements of coachees. Please review them before requesting this service.
This would be something like the Welcoming Committee, but for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. Some might like suggestions about how to learn vandal patrol, or mentoring on taking an article to featured status, or guidance with a proposal they plan to make at the Village Pump, for example. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.
The Stressbusters are a subset of Esperanza aiming to investigate the causes of stress. New eyes on the situation are always welcome!
Note from the editor
As always, MiszaBot handled this delivery. Thank you! Also, congratulations go to Pschemp, Titoxd and Freakofnurture for being elected in the last elections! An Esperanzial May to all of the readership!

  2. A disclaimer is going to be added to the Esperanza main page. We are humans and, as such, are imperfect.
  3. Various revisions have been made to the Code of Conduct. Please see them, as the proposal is ready to be ratified by the community and enacted. All members will members to have to re-confirm their membership after accepting the Code of Conduct.

Taking it with calm

I realized that there is almost no sense in editing every single day to improve pages. Doing it weekly or even monthly make long term difference. I'm also very glad my ideas in pages I've cared the most for in the past still keeping my ideas. Enemies of Batman count with the history section I worked, List of Villans is still categorized, Superman is divided in subarticles, and so on. I think so much fighting wasn't necesary at all, a good idea survives by itself.

Right now I'm learning about different relations betwen abrahamic religions. I't is amazing how the shape of all modern cultures (but asian and indian) has its root in the Genesis and followed the predictions of the Apocalypse in many ways. How the heck did they knew Abraham will have sons all over the world (Jews-Jacob/Israel, Christians-Esau+Israel linked throug Christ and Arabs-Ishmael). And also very amazing is the symbolic fact that Isaac gave his blessing to Israel... thinking he was Esau! Egg or chicken we will never know which one was the right one! I'm catholic but half sefardi jew, so either way I part of both lines, heheh.

Maybe the Da Vinci code isn't as bad as catholic church said, it spawned so much media research. In my case, by reading non cannonic catholic literature and from other religions I'm becoming more catholic. The main problem of my church leaders is that they think not recognizing they don't know everything is a good thing. They should go "Catholic church, because we don't know everything, but our highschool chicks have the best uniforms ever"

Bye

That fact might mean hope, hehe ;). I mean, in the past I'd have gone berserk on his page affter all that messing over my work he has been doing lately.

Another way to understand what I'm complainig about, is mirroring the situation. He messes, reverts, erases and mock edits I do withing few hours before every other editor. Even pages I just created that are not linked to the ones he frecuents. This implies that he is stalking me. Now, if it were just same taste in articles, but 180° diferent opinions, he'd have 100% of his edits reverted by me, a vice versa situation, but the only edits he has reversed by me are those that were actually edits over mine or rv's of my work.

The situation is frustrating and I feel he is privating me of rights every user has. We all get rv sometimes, but not 80% by the same stalker.

I need your help, I truly do. I promess I'll be more polite with sensitive people. I learn English watching South Park, Seinfeld, the Simpsons, SNL, Friends and Will and Grace, and I have a weird sense of humor. I can make fun of myself but I hate people using the word "poor --something". It's just so pompous and rude, I'd prefer that they call me moron or stuborn or nazi or something.

It's just that, people in some pages are too posesive and don't accept new stuff even if there are already pages like that. When I change something I'm kinda always taking other pages of strict equivalent importance and symilar topics as templates. I guess there is no other way than listing several examples in a row every time. It's a shame it shows how little can this kind of people research. -- T-man, the wise 05:25, 5 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Okay, this time I am asking you to intervene. On the Talk:List_of_Justice_League_episodes page, he posted this little bit.

ven this gayass crap has articles per episodes (not that there is anything worng with being gay at all, it's just my very uneducated way of speaking, gayass is ok, the crap part is what makes these suck, of course if you happen to be straight there is a hihg probability of finding geyass things a little not so awesome, hehe...I should shot up...)

After being told to remove that or apologize, he continued to be unrepentant with the following.

C'mon, I'm pro-gayass, I even watch Will & Grace every day.--T-man, the wise 05:36, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

Work via WikiProjects

Hi Shanel, Things have certainly changed a lot at WP:WVWP since it was just you & me contacting projects last year, but the idea is still similar. We are going to do a second round of contacting, using a message something like this. Take a look at the new bot-generated data, they're quite amazing! The number of worklists seems to be multiplying too, so I think there are now probably more than 10,000 articles assessed! Once Oleg has got the bot sorting by importance as well as quality (hopefully this weekend), we'd like to start contacting. Would you be able to help? Regards, Walkerma 05:39, 7 June 2006 (UTC) Oh, I meant to mention, take a look at the discussion here. Thanks, Walkerma 05:42, 7 June 2006 (UTC) reply

T-Man

Sorry to bother you again. Our friend has come back guns-a-blazing from his block, deleting the merge tag on Animated Series Batman, deleting messages on his talk page when attempts were made to address the issue with him, and engaging in hostile machismo over on my talk page I take it that someone is sitting down with him and explaining the etiquite problems with the manner he's conducting himself? I've tried to be patient in discussions with him in the past, but now I feel myself getting annoyed, so I'd rather not engage with him anymore. ~CS 18:55, 8 June 2006 (UTC) reply

aaaand here we go again over on CovenantD's talkpage. ~CS 19:22, 8 June 2006 (UTC) reply

OK

I'll stop with the merging thing.

But the episodes thing. It doesnt matter if a guy + my stalker disagree with the changes. (I have conevant and grisworld on my side on this, making 3 vs 1 and 1/2). If these 2 persons (or even a 100, for that matter) already know this has been done in several more ena less important pages, and still forbid the changes to happen. They are acting as tyrands making their own convenient laws.

I'm not making formats up, I'm not even writing. I'm just adapting. Besides my stalker is reversing everything I do. My stalker, not even these editors. My stalker. I've already reported him several times and nobody cares. I've created several pages that still exist. Tell me one, at least one not vandalized by him. Do you seriously believe this is coincidence. What are the odds? And he is always the first one.

The thing that bothers me the most about the merger thing is that it was proposed by my stalker as part of his usual routine of doing whatever is going to bother me. (or have you ever seen him supporting me on enything at all?). Of course, regular people don't know this and ignored it. It is my work, and it's not even finished jet and a bunch of people is already judging. I TOLD THEM IT'S NOT GOING TO BE READY UNTIL JUNE 25, and not to add tags until then. My stalker and they were unrespectful FIRST. Considering thing, removing the tag is not unrespectful at all, I asked for time before it even existed.

Seriously, give me some credit.-- T-man, the wise 19:41, 8 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Agggh!!! and of coulse I talked to coneveanT, he talked to me first, I'm just answering. It's not like "here we go again", that CS makes me so angry!. I don't even care for the stuff they argue. I already proved them wrong and now they are complaing about minor unrelevant issues I don't care for.-- T-man, the wise 19:45, 8 June 2006 (UTC) reply

  • He just removed the vandalism warning from his page for about the third or fourth time. CovenantD 19:55, 8 June 2006 (UTC) reply

PLEASE do something about T-Man. I can't keep reverting his subpages for Justice League daily, and the 72 hour bans he keeps getting don't seem to teach him anything at all. Those pages make no sense at all, and there is no consensus for it, but he just keeps going like the Energizer Bunny. CovenantD and I try to explain it to him: see here: [3]. please help! Mass of deletions

What is with this mass of deletions? -- GeorgeMoney  T· C 00:32, 10 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Well, what about {{ blink}} and other ones? It is confusing to type, "<span style="text-decoration: blink">Text to blink</span>". Some people don't know that much HTML. Maybe doing '' '' would be easier than using {{ italics}}, but having to type all of that HTML code perfectly would be really hard. I suggest you un-delete {{ left}} and {{ blink}}, because it is useful to not have to tpe so much HTML. All the other ones can stay deleted. Also, please delete {{ bold}} and {{ esm}} and {{ sect1}} {{ sect2}} (and all the {{ sectX}} from 1-5) -- GeorgeMoney  T· C 00:51, 10 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Warning templates

Don't worry, I didn't ignore what you said on my talk:

You template on User talk:67.141.18.125

You might want to change the wording of it a bit - "Cease and desist" sounds threatening, and we block, not ban ;)--Shanel § 03:08, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

To give a fuller answer, these were templates I nicked from Ilyanep (at the moment User:nathanrdotcom/test1-test4 all redirect to his) because they're the nicest warning templates I could find, but eventually I just got annoyed with the American spelling (sorry Ilyanep!) and I'm subst'ing and editing them in my own userspace. "Banned"=blocked was the first thing I edited. Thanks. —  Natha n ( talk) 01:10, 10 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Stalker

Please, you have to stop ignoring me on the issue. You also posted in his page that you will "block me if I attack him again", that hurts, you know I've been fearly succesful in ignoring him. However as I explained to you in the last mail, the nature of his posting in every single user page I talked about him in the past + the quick manner he undoes every freaking single edit (literally), means he has been up to 24 hours monitoring activity reading everysincle word i type on WP (or do you have another expalanation for what he's been able to do in the past). You're actually encouraging him, that's even more hurtful. Please, take action, I beg you.

Also, after dealing with the issue, can you block me for a while, I need some forced retirement again, maybe a week or so. I'll talk to you if I need unblocking.

Don't worry I've kept in mind the consideration that you might have not been able to deal with these issues because you might have been busy with your tests period at school. You don't have to put too much pressure on yourself, you can also ask help to someone else, that's why we're a community, kid. These issues are obviously nowhere near the importance of your school (or your vacations if so heheh ;) )-- T-man, the wise 00:09, 13 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Shanel, I've made some comments on T-Man's page, even though it may have been unwise and has further angered him (and which he will likely delete asap). I really don't want this feud to continue and will try to give T-Man some space, knowing that you will be watching him for his edits. Just thought you should know. And I am not some crazed guy out to mock and disrupt his life, regardless of what he says ot thinks. I'm just a normal guy, married, a lawyer, trying to be part of the wikipedia community in my limited free time. I acknowledge that sometimes I get carried away and hence the caustic descriptions for reverts and edits. Anything you can do to make him believe that I mean no ill will would be very helpful. Who is this teabagging afficianado repeatedl promoting his proclivities on other people's user pages? It must be so hard to be so lonely. -- Chris Griswold 01:40, 14 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Hi Shanel. I'm curious why you blocked Honk If You Love Wikipedia. Your block summary is pretty vague; I don't see anything immediately wrong with the username. The guy's created a new account, HonkIfYouLoveWikipedia, and I blocked it as a username too similar to the first. Let me know. ~ MDD 46 96 03:09, 14 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Usernames with "Wikipedia" in them are confusing, they imply an official relationship. Specifically, this account seems to have set up solely to promote an idea about promotional bumper stickers, which is equally innapropriate—Accounts for editing the encyclopedia, not promoting some vague advertising idea (even if it's beneficial to Wikipedia). And that's even accepting that this person is acting in good faith, I suspect that it's a reincarnation of a frequent troll who adds pseudo-nonsense to the admin's noticeboard (always WP:ANI, the more crowded page; presumably the idea is waste as many people's time and as much of it as possible). In any case, I can't imagine any concievable reason why this account should be unblocked.-- SB | T 04:21, 14 June 2006 (UTC) reply
