Archers

Hallo Sarah, I noticed your chat comment on the Academic Archers conference this morning! I added Gavin Moss to the Archers page recently, and have made the occasional minor edit ( a couple of updates about Covid effects), but I'm struck by how poor the coverage of the programme is in general! But not planning to spend too much of my life in improving it. Good luck. Are you going to be at the wiki Zoom tomorrow lunchtime? Pam D 11:34, 9 May 2020 (UTC) reply

@ PamD: Hi there! I'm so sorry, I just saw this message - I'm usually over at user:lirazelf, so lovely to hear from you! I'm going to miss those zoom calls... In my volunteer time I've been doing a bunch of work on putting the Archers into Wikidata.... :) Sara Thomas (WMUK) ( talk) 19:00, 2 July 2020 (UTC) reply

official images e.g. of Nicola Sturgeon

Dear Sara, I noticed the (mass) deletion discussion of Scottish politicians on Commons and so I welcomed your intervention, in getting clarity re Crown Copyright vs Wiki CCbySA of their images e.g. of First Minister and was going to write myself just to ask someone to upload an updated and open access one (as it is 2017!) on the right licence terms, but held back to see if you have news.

Thinking ahead to the Scots wiki editathon, I was envisaging assisting with the images of our (female or all) politicians, and probably all have similar issues re permissions needed via ScotGov. of elected representatives. Sure they are very busy with coronavirus, Brexit and preparing for elections... but good if Scots wiki got current pictures, eh?

@ Kaybeesquared: Hey hey! Have sent an email to the listed email addresses, so hopefully get an answer soon. Be good to resolve the licensing conflict. Agree, yes! Be great to add those at the next Scotswiki editathon.... Sara Thomas (WMUK) ( talk) 17:23, 14 January 2021 (UTC) reply
@ Kaybeesquared: Hello again! Just an update - following contact with the Scottish Government regarding this, they have now changed the license on Flickr to CC-BY. I'll be looking to do a transfer over in the next day or so. :) Sara Thomas (WMUK) ( talk) 17:46, 20 January 2021 (UTC) reply
