Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Kaiju Girl Caramelise into Draft:Beasts of Abigaile. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{ copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa ( talk) 13:44, 21 January 2024 (UTC) reply

That was my bad. In the past I have done attribution through the {{Copied}} template and the page was not published in mainspace yet so I didn't have anything on the talk page. If I add it to the draft talk will that be moved over along with the article to mainspace? Recon rabbit 16:01, 21 January 2024 (UTC) reply
Yes the talk page would get moved with an accepted draft. But posting on the talk page is optional; the edit summary is mandatory. — Diannaa ( talk) 01:23, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply
I see; I'll do that on the other relevant articles. Recon rabbit 04:06, 22 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Could you clarify this edit? You're saying this causes a CS1 error despite not being anywhere close to a ref? InfiniteNexus ( talk) 19:31, 21 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Template:Tweet uses Template:Cite tweet, which means it creates a Citation Style 1 reference (even if it isn't included in the reference list at the end, which Cite tweet does). There is no way to include in the "name" parameter, even when ((ignoring errors)), without causing the article to be placed in [[Category:CS1 errors:generic name]]. Including the verified badge isn't recommended by the template documentation, and breaks how the citation is read by WP:COinS. Recon rabbit 20:09, 21 January 2024 (UTC) reply
Interesting. I don't know enough about the template to say, but is it possible to hardcode the badge into the template via a |verified=yes parameter? InfiniteNexus ( talk) 07:16, 23 January 2024 (UTC) reply
I would ask User:Anne drew Andrew and Drew as they are far more familiar with the template and would be able to judge if it's useful to add. Recon rabbit 13:50, 23 January 2024 (UTC) reply
@ InfiniteNexus: Adding anything other than text to the name parameter does seem to cause a CS1 error. You can work around this by setting the reference parameter manually instead of letting the Tweet template generate the reference for you. As for adding a verified parameter, you can find some past discussions about that in the talk page archives. It doesn't look like there is much support for it but you are welcome to bring it up again if you want. – Anne drew 01:32, 27 January 2024 (UTC) reply

Cybook Gen1

Hi, I redirected this article to the Bookeen article as an alternative for deletion. Pavlor ( talk) 05:26, 17 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Thanks. The Bookeen article does need some improvement. Maybe now more information could be provided about the Gen1 on that page but as it was the page was just a list of device specs and promotional information which is why I put forward the PROD. Recon rabbit 13:40, 17 April 2024 (UTC) reply
