Thanks for your contributions to Marriage of the Sea ceremony (Pisa). Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 02:11, 18 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Hello! The article is a translation of its corresponding it.wikipedia article, which is similarly under-sourced. Do I need to source it myself before it can be translated? Photosynthetic430 17:01, 18 October 2023 (UTC) reply
First of all, thank you for creating the article. The first thing you have to do is correctly attribute the it.wikipedia contributors, please read WP:TFOLWP. You didn't need to source the it.wikipedia article, you can just source this article to get it to be moved back into mainspace. Thank you! ✠ SunDawn ✠ (contact) 01:11, 19 October 2023 (UTC) reply
I did attribute the it.wikipedia contributors, as per WP:TFOLWP -- i.e. in the first edit summary and on the talk page. What am I missing?
Also, when I say "source it myself", I mean that because the original article was un-sourced, I'd have to go through the literature it cites and extract the page numbers manually. (I don't have easy access to those books, nor is my Italian really good enough to read them in reasonable time.) That seems like a pretty stiff barrier to put up for translation, heh.

Women in Red

Hi there, Photosynthetic430, and thanks for adding the WiR template to your user page. I'm sorry to see you've been experiencing difficulties with Marriage of the Sea ceremony (Pisa). Unfortunately the English Wikipedia is stricter about sourcing than the Italian version. My first recommendation would be that you should find at least two other sources for the article. I see, for example, it is mentioned by Turismo Pisa, Corriere della Sera and Il Terreno. You should then add inline citations as suggested. If you need further help with this, please let me know. One of our main concerns at Women in Red is to increase the number of biographies of women. You can find guidance in our essays. I think it would be useful if you also signed up under "New registrations" on Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red/New members. Please let me know if you run into further difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!-- Ipigott ( talk) 10:24, 20 October 2023 (UTC) reply

Oh, thank you for all of this! I'll sign up right away. I'm planning to translate a couple bios from Spanish at the first opportunity. I'll also hit those sites you recommended -- thank you especially for those! :D -- Photosynthetic430 17:09, 20 October 2023 (UTC) reply
