Dear Narutolovehinata5 I would like to pass on to you a message I had sent to Mr. Haworth yesterday. I have just noticed, however, that he has been “de-sysopped”, as he calls it. Hence I would like you, as an administrator, to attend to this matter. In the light of recent publications, such as "Sex differences in Alzheimer’s disease: metabolic reprogramming and therapeutic intervention" (2021), I would like you to revisit the deletion of the Wikipedia text on the Inverse Warburg effect. Sincerely
Cordula (Hasperaspaeragus)
Dear Mr. Haworth, I would like you to consider resurrecting the Wikipedia article on the Inverse Warburg Effect, deleted 31 July 2017. The main reason given for its deletion was that the phenomenon described was "too fringe".
National newspapers in Germany and Switzerland, however, have published major articles focussing on this novel metabolic approach to explaining Alzheimer's Disease, based on the Inverse Warburg effect. (
https://www.faz.net/aktuell/wissen/medizin-ernaehrung/streitgespraech-alzheimer-heilung-wie-nah-ist-man-wirklich-dran-13722068.html?printPagedArticle=true#pageIndex_2 /
https://www.nzz.ch/wissenschaft/gestoerte-energieversorgung-im-gehirn-1.18483527) A similar article in English, likewise addressed to the general public, can be found in the Harvard Gazette (
https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2015/02/a-new-understanding-of-alzheimers/)
The fundamental publication "Alzheimer's disease: the amyloid hypothesis and the Inverse Warburg effect" by Demetrius, Magistretti and Pellerin (
https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fphys.2014.00522/full) has had 30.732 views (This is more than 98% of all Frontiers articles), and so far has received 138 citations. Is that "too fringe"?
The most recent publication based on the Inverse Warburg concept is "Sex differences in Alzheimer’s disease: metabolic reprogramming and therapeutic intervention", which came out in 2021 (
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1043276021002198). - The theory is very much alive!
In view of the current rejection of the Amyloid model for Alzheimer's disease, the major competing theory of the origin of neurodegenerative disorders, the bioenergetic model, based on the Inverse Warburg effect, would be of interest to Wikipedia readers.

Hello Narutolovehinata5! I have noticed you have created articles for the voice actresses Rin Kusumi and Sayuri Date. However, I am not sure either of these meet the appropriate notability criteria. Both of them fail WP:GNG with just interviews, agency profiles, and casting announcements as sources, but that isn't uncommon for actors in general. Hence why WP:NACTOR exists; that being said, these two don't meet that either. NACTOR #1 states "Has had significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances, or other productions". Looking at these articles, both of them fail this criteria as well, since they only have one of these roles. If more coverage in Japanese exists, then they may meet GNG, but since both are fairly new I doubt it. Link20XX ( talk) 00:33, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Sora Amamiya for issues which need to be addressed. If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Hello Narutolovehinata5/Archives,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.
Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.
In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 814 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 859 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.
This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.
If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

I'm seeing how you feel about replacing my author credit with one for Cielquiparle for Joseph Eiboeck. Barely any of the current content is from me which normally wouldn't frustrate me, but I was planning on bringing the article to GA and now I can't. If I'm wrong and I still can, it wouldn't feel fulfilling at all. I don't want to associate with the article anymore. It honestly wouldn't bug me nearly as much if it was someone other than the reviewer. I don't understand why there are reviewers who feel the need to take over an article that meets DYK criteria instead of just reviewing it. SL93 ( talk) 04:36, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

Hello Narutolovehinata5/Archives,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000 [a] at the end of May.
Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size. [b]
In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).
While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).
A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here. Barnstars will be awarded.
Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.
There is a new template available, {{
NPP backlog}}
, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:
Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 9930 articles, as of 12:00, 21 May 2024 (UTC), according to DatBot
There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.

Hello Narutolovehinata5/Archives,
After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.
Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.

Hi Narutolovehinata5/Archives,
For those who may have missed it in our last newsletter, here's a quick reminder to see the letter we have drafted, and if you support it, do please go ahead and sign it. If you already signed, thanks. Also, if you haven't noticed, the backlog has been trending up lately; all reviews are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for supporting the NPP initiative to improve WMF support of the Page Curation tools. Another way you can help is by voting in the Board of Trustees election. The next Board composition might be giving attention to software development. The election closes on 6 September at 23:59 UTC. View candidate statement videos and Vote Here. Hello Narutolovehinata5, I am wondering if a rejected submission for Wiki Asian Month can be accepted after edits? I recently created a page for Wanxin Zhang but it was not accepted with the comment "The lead should say 'born 1961', not '1961-present.'" I have changed the lead to the correct format and am wondering if it will now be accepted? I saw that other submissions were accepted with similar formatting comments. I had originally posted this question on Wikipedia talk:Asian Month but I had not received a reply. Any help or answers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your work on Wikipedia Asian Month 2022! -- CarCai ( talk) 05:17, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
Hello.
I saw that you raised some issue for my articles submitted for the Asia Month 2022. I edited those articles to address the concerns and improved them significantly.
Could you please review them again?
They are King Gyeongmun's ear tale and Brother and sister who became the sun and moon.
Thanks. Regpath ( talk) 12:49, 30 November 2022 (UTC)
Narutolovehinata5, will you be returning to this nomination, or should I find someone else for it? Please let me know here or post there asap. Many thanks. BlueMoonset ( talk) 05:30, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
I see you once thought about an RfA. It looks like you had a very positive response, yet you didn't run. Would you mind if I nominated you now? I think you'd sail through to an easy confirmation. To be honest, I'm being selfish here; I want to get more people promoting DYK prep sets to queues! -- RoySmith (talk) 17:20, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

Dear Narutolovehinata5/Archives/2022,
Christmas Greetings and a Happy New Year 2023,
You are humbly invited to organize the Feminism and Folklore 2023 writing competition from February 1, 2023, to March 31, 2023. This year, Feminism and Folklore will focus on feminism, women's issues, and gender-focused topics for the project, with a Wiki Loves Folklore gender gap focus and a folk culture theme on Wikipedia.
You can help Wikipedia's coverage of folklore from your area by writing or improving articles about things like folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, women and queer folklore figures, folk game athletes, women in mythology, women warriors in folklore, witches and witch hunting, fairy tales, and more. Users can help create new articles, expand or translate from a list of suggested articles.
Organisers are requested to work on the following action items to sign up their communities for the project:
This year we would be supporting the community's financial aid for Internet and childcare support. This would be provided for the local team including their jury and coordinator team. This support is opt-in and non mandatory. Kindly fill in this Google form and mark a mail to support@wikilovesfolklore.org with the subject line starting as [Stipend] Name or Username/Language. The last date to sign up for internet and childcare aid from our team is 20th of January 2023, We encourage the language coordinators to sign up their community on this link by the 25th of January 2023.
Learn more about the contest and prizes on our project page. Feel free to contact us on our meta talk page or by email us if you need any assistance.
We look forward to your immense coordination.
Thank you and Best wishes,
