SIR Hylan Line

I have never heard of the "Hylan Line" when referring to Staten Island Railway service. It runs parallel to Hylan Boulevard, but it is some distance from it. That line has always been known as the Main Line (to distinguish it from the North Shore and South Beach branches). Unless you can provide and add a reliable source to support your edits, I will be reverting your edits. Tinlinkin ( talk) 00:00, 31 December 2009 (UTC) reply

Where did you find the maps from the 1950s? And were they official TA maps? I'm not doubting you, I just find it surprising that the lines were named that way (especially the Hylan name). I will post a note at Talk:Staten Island Railway, so other users can comment about it. As for the Columbus Circle station, in the online transit forums, I read that the center platform would become the crossunder for the IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line (1 train) level and IND access to that platform will be unusable. That's all I know or heard about it. Tinlinkin ( talk) 13:14, 26 January 2010 (UTC) reply
