I'm assuming they were taken in Tanzania? The first is probably some kind of Polyporaceae, (could be damn difficult to identify precisely) while the second is probably some kind of Lycoperdaceae. More generally (I suspect you know...) the first is a bracket fungi of some sort, while the second is a puffball. I wouldn't want to guess any more precisely than that- try posting them on the WikiProject Fungi talk page, or Mushroom Observer. J Milburn ( talk) 16:24, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

- The picture you linked to is tilted and seems to be cut-off at both sides. The tilt can easily be fixed but I would suggest taking a couple of pictures of the skyline and stitching them together to form a
panorama. If your camera has optical zoom then you'd better zoom the maximum possible and take as many pictures required to cover the skyline. Once all the images are stitched, you can downsize the image to the current resolution and you will get a much sharper image. But a compact camera has its limits so I don't know if it would come to FP quality. See
for inspiration. You may also want to ask
