Grand Prix results

Hi Mr Larrington. Thanks for your recent contributions to BRM Grand Prix results and Tyrrell Racing. Just to let you know, standard practice within the Formula One WikiProject is to include non-works results in a separate table - see Brabham Grand Prix results and Lotus Grand Prix results for examples. I'll make the necessary amendments to BRM Grand Prix results and Tyrrell Racing some time in the next couple of days (unless you or someone else beat me to it) - I just thought I'd mention it now in case you were planning to make any further additions before I get around to it. Merlin engined cars

Do you have any technical details on these? There's a lot that's unclear about them. In particular:

  • Engine: Merlin or Meteor-based?
  • How was the drive coupled to a Merlin? Presumably they lost the reduction box and took the drive frrom the crankshaft?
  • Did they keep the Merlin's supercharger? This seems difficult for a road car, as a centrifugal supercharger would have made the engine very inflexible for rpm variation. Or did they simply run at constant rpm and let the torque converter handle the rest?
  • Fuel: Did they keep running on AVGAS, or adjust for road 4* ?

Thanks if you can shed any light on these, I know they're obscure, but it would be interesting to know. Andy Dingley ( talk) 14:15, 27 October 2009 (UTC) reply

Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. -- SineBot ( talk) 14:11, 30 October 2009 (UTC) reply

== Removal of reference from Sturmey-Archer ==

There are two things about this edit that disturb me.

  1. You flagged it as a minor edit but such a removal is not minor
  2. You did not leave an edit summary explaining your removal

I have reverted your edit. If you fee; your contribution was correct please feel free to revert my reversion, but only do so if you given a reason for your edit. Generally the removal of references without an edit summary are considered to be vandalism. Please note, however, that this is neither an accusation of vandalism nor a formal warning. It is simply a request to be more transparent in your edits. Fiddle Faddle ( talk) 16:36, 12 February 2010 (UTC) reply

Reading matter on UK TV history

Hiya, I wonder if you know of any good reads on the history of UK television? After our chat on miniseries/series on the Tinker Tailor page it had made me wonder at how the UK still categorises these sorts of programmes. Halbared ( talk) 17:39, 9 February 2021 (UTC) reply
