Information icon Hello, I'm Manticore. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Demographics of New York (state), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Manticore 02:14, 9 March 2024 (UTC) reply

This is where I got the added content from MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 02:17, 9 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Information icon Hi MidAtlanticBaby! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Demographics of New York (state) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Demographics of New York (state), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. — Manticore 02:19, 9 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Cool thanks MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 02:21, 9 March 2024 (UTC) reply
That attitude won't get you anywhere on here. I encourage you to read Help:Referencing for beginners and WP:SYNTH so you understand what the issues are with the edits you are making. — Manticore 02:28, 9 March 2024 (UTC) reply
No lol that was genuine
I said cool thanks I appreciate the help MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 02:33, 9 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Previous editing

Considering that you're a brand-new account, you've been making some fairly comprehensive and advanced editing. Have you edited before under another ID? Alansohn ( talk) 04:02, 10 March 2024 (UTC) reply

No I just learned how to do the interactive maps and replaced the already existing maps on some of the NJ municipality pages (especially the bigger ones) with them MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 04:05, 10 March 2024 (UTC) reply
Actually maybe I have edited before under several other different accounts
But I don't think I've ever done that kind of editing in particular before MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 04:08, 10 March 2024 (UTC) reply
What other accounts have you used in the past? Alansohn ( talk) 05:18, 10 March 2024 (UTC) reply
I'm tryna recall MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 05:20, 10 March 2024 (UTC) reply
Any luck with remembering your former persona/personae? Maybe you can point to some of the articles you've edited under other usernames. Alansohn ( talk) 03:27, 15 March 2024 (UTC) reply
Maybe idk MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 03:39, 15 March 2024 (UTC) reply

Edit warring to remove sources

This edit is typical of your latest edit warring to remove sources that support the claims in the article. If you don't like the way the source provided breaks New Jersey into North, Central and South regions, find an alternative source to support your claim; don't just remove sources because they contradict your opinion or original research. Alansohn ( talk) 03:12, 1 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Okay MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 03:28, 1 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Please stop

Category:Passaic County, New Jersey is in Category:North Jersey. YOU added it. Every place in Passaic County is already in the parent category for North Jersey, and the same for every county in North Jersey. Please stop adding the category needlessly to every place in North Jersey. This is NOT how the category system works. Please stop. Alansohn ( talk) 15:01, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply

I was adding every place in North Jersey to the North Jersey category because if I removed the category on any of the articles for the counties themselves then my edits would get reverted and the categories would be added back again MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 15:03, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply
No one has removed them. There's no issue. This is the same reason not to add Category:New Jersey, or Category:United States or Category:Earth. These are parent categories. This is not how Wikipedia works. Alansohn ( talk) 15:05, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply
I removed the categories on each of the articles and then you added the categories back MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 15:12, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply
Ah yes, YOU were the one removing categories. Thanks for the reminder and acknowledgement. Look at YOUR edit. YOU removed the category from the county and I was the one who put them back. Now you claim to be adding them to cities just in case "if I removed the category on any of the articles for the counties themselves then my edits would get reverted". Every county in North Jersey is in Category:North Jersey, despite your efforts to remove them. Why would you add Category:North Jersey to city articles "just in case" someone removes them from the counties. YOU have been the one removing the categories. Alansohn ( talk) 15:20, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply
Because somebody is gonna revert them either way because theyre just now being added to those articles? Lmao if you didnt want the categories to be added in the first place then you should have reverted every single one of the edits of the first person to add them MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 15:24, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply
Are you worried that YOU might start again removing categories? You simply don't understand in any way how the Wikipedia category system works. Alansohn ( talk) 15:29, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply
I mean yeah
If the parent category for the county is in the region category then the region category does not need to be in the county article MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 15:36, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply
"I mean yeah"?!?! YOU added categories to city articles because YOU are afraid that YOU might start removing them again from the county articles? Alansohn ( talk) 15:47, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply
Maybe there should be a discussion on whether those categories should or should not be added to those articles to begin with since nobody ever thought of putting those categories on the other articles until just recently because that's part of the reason why I'm at where I'm at
Just an opinion
That's all MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 16:32, 11 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Your edit to Newark, New Jersey

Hello, I've noticed that several other editors have been warning you not to change content on the New Jersey pages like that. I recently just saw your edit to the Newark page, and I advise you to please follow the advice they have given you and not do it again. I'm willing to be very patient with every editor I come across, but it will become disruptive if you continue to make these edits. I'm leaving just a reminder here, but next time will be a warning. NoobThreePointOh ( talk) 13:19, 15 April 2024 (UTC) reply

I wasnt the one who made the edits the first time and y'all are just now deciding to revert them
Discuss it on the talk page and stop reverting all of my edits just because YOU dont agree with them
How about that
The fuck MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 13:59, 15 April 2024 (UTC) reply

April 2024

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on New York City ethnic enclaves. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. In addition, leaving inappropriate warning templates like this is unacceptable. If you continue to remove this content without discussion, you will be reported. Epicgenius ( talk) 22:50, 20 April 2024 (UTC) reply

In addition, per WP:OWNTALK, I've removed your inappropriate warning from my talk page. You should not be restoring them; my removal is an acknowledgement that I've seen your message. – Epicgenius ( talk) 22:55, 20 April 2024 (UTC) reply
Do NOT restore that talk page warning again: I will block you if you do. Thanks. Drmies ( talk) 22:56, 20 April 2024 (UTC) reply
@ Drmies, they appear to still be at it. – Epicgenius ( talk) 22:58, 20 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Minor edits

Information icon Hi MidAtlanticBaby! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. " Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. 636Buster ( talk) 10:42, 25 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Which edits specifically are you referring to? You're referring to the edits I made just recently on the pages for the Pennsylvania counties? MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 14:20, 25 April 2024 (UTC) reply
@ MidAtlanticBaby, yes, I was referring to those recent edits. Just making you aware of the proper use for WP:MINOR. 636Buster ( talk) 15:01, 25 April 2024 (UTC) reply

Source

Do you have a source for your edit that Lehigh County, Pennsylvania is part of the Delaware Valley? We had a considerable discussion about this a year or so ago and found that neither Lehigh nor Northampton County are considered part of the Delaware Valley. I have reverted your addition. If you have a source, feel free to add it, but I am fairly sure it is not part of that region, as designated by the U.S. Census Bureau or any other definitive source. Keystone18 ( talk) 16:00, 25 April 2024 (UTC) reply

?
It's not part of the Delaware Valley
I said it was part of a different region which is Southeast Pennsylvania
Most of the counties part of the latter region are located in the Delaware Valley and that link just redirects to the page for the Delaware Valley MidAtlanticBaby ( talk) 19:58, 25 April 2024 (UTC) reply
