Advice on User:COFS

I noticed some uncivil responses from this user on the Talk:Youth for Human Rights International page. Feel free to post any such repeated offenses to WP:AN/I.-- Fahrenheit451 21:00, 29 April 2007 (UTC) reply

Thanks, will do. I'm still getting a feel for the rules. Like.liberation 07:00, 2 May 2007 (UTC) reply

Your Recent Edit

Your recent [ revert] on the Youth for Human Rights International deleted grammar, spelling and readability changes that were made by a previously uninvolved and neutral third party editor. Wholesale reverts can be destructive and can inadvertently remove spelling, grammar and readability changes made by other editors. Please use reverts sparingly as a sign of respect to other editors who have attempted to help improve the article. Thank you. Lsi john 13:17, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

I apologize, LSI john. I felt many of your edits omitted relevant information. Our difference of opinion over what is relevant, I think, was why I reverted. Like.liberation 07:37, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

YHRI article

Where in the reference does it say this: "A French human rights commission submitted to the Assemblee nationale in December 2006 a report including testimony of abuses on Scientology's part that harmed the physical and mental health of children."? Makoshack 10:47, 7 May 2007 (UTC) reply

The testimony is scattered throughout the document, which is itself the report submitted to the Assemblee nationale. Like.liberation 11:13, 7 May 2007 (UTC) reply

That does not answer the question, does it? Could you at least name the "french human rights commission" and give me the page number of the "abuses"? Makoshack 01:53, 8 May 2007 (UTC) reply
It does, if you would read the source. The name is on the first page: "AU NOM DE LA COMMISSION D’ENQUÊTE relative à l’influence des mouvements à caractère sectaire et aux conséquences de leurs pratiques sur la santé physique et mentale des mineurs." Can you read French? I will translate this bit for you. "In the name of the investigative commission regarding the influence of sects and the consequences of their practices on the physical and mental health of minors." The president of the commission is a member of the French parliament, the commission was official, and the report was submitted to the Assemblee nationale.
There is this exchange on page 26, between Jacques Remillier, a member of the commission, and Roger Gonnet, ex-head of the Scientology office in Lyon:
M. Jacques REMILLER : Qu’y fait-on ?
Do you understand that? Gonnet testifies that some children are sent to serve at Sea Org at RPF sites from the age of six. He says they are subject to ten hours of work per day, plus five hours of brainwashing. He says they are not allowed access to newspapers, radio or television. Most important of all, he says that their parents are limited in if not denied all access to them. "They can't leave until they've finished; that can take years."
On page 35, Gonnet says that children are interrogated with Security checks especially designed for minors between the ages of six and 12. On pages 84-5, he describes the dangers of Narcanon for adolescents. The last Narcanon in France closed in 1984 after one of the patients died. This assertion was also reported in a French magazine, L'Expresse: Article du 3 août 2006 de Mme Solenne Durox « Sectes : d’une drogue à l’autre ». I hope that satisfies your curiosity. In any case, it backs up my statements on the YHRI page. Like.liberation 10:28, 8 May 2007 (UTC) reply

your recent edit

Like.liberation, I believe you have mis-read or mis-interpreted Krator's 3O.

His suggestion clearly allowed for multiple tags and stated that it was only an opinion, not mandatory wiki policy, that only one tag be used. He also clearly stated that, unless the editor was inactive, article tags should be removed by the editor who placed them, not another individual.

Your edit [ here] was in direct contradiction to his recommendation.

In fact, Krator [ reverted] Smee for doing exactly the same thing, only 4 edits before you.

You most likely read too quickly and did not grasp the entire 3O as it was presented. Please be more careful in the future lest your conduct be construed as rude and offensive.

After taking time to consider the tags, I would like to make a change from how the tags were. But if I do that before you revert yourself, it could be perceived as edit-warring and I wish to avoid that.

In good-faith, I respectfully request that you revert your own edit and replace the tags as they were.

Peace-in-God. Lsi john 17:37, 8 May 2007 (UTC) reply

It appears that a subsequent edit, by another user, has re-added one of the tags.. so my request is moot at this point.
Thanks again. Peace in God.

You have breached the three revert rule on Youth_for_Human_Rights_International. Only the absence of a warning and your relative inexperience as a user saved you from a block. The article Skymind has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

An advertorially toned page on an unremarkable private company. Significant RS coverage not found; what comes up is PR-driven and / or WP:SPI. The article is cited to online business directories, company's own web site, interviews and other sources otherwise not suitable for notability. Raised $3M in funding strongly suggesting that it's WP:TOOSOON for an encyclopedia entry. Fails WP:CORPDEPTH and WP:NCORP.

Speedy deletion nomination of Wolfsuka

Hello Like.liberation,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Wolfsuka for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
