Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to
talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must
sign your posts by typing four
tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --

I was not the closing administrator in the Floyd C. Bayne deletion discussion. (In fact, I'm not an administrator at all). See Stifle for that. I voted for delete or redirect, which appears to be what happened, even though the deletion summary says it was just deleted. Anyway, AFD discussions are not a vote count...it is a way for editors to voice their opinions, and then an uninvolved administrator comes along, supposedly taking the discussion into account, but ultimately does what he/she deems to be most in accord with Wikipedia policies (In this case, see wp:NOTE. I've seen overwhelming support to keeparticles, only to see them deleted at closing. If you feel strongly that this deletion was in bad faith, you could open up an RFC regarding this. I think an argument could be made (possibly using wp:Undue) that, during an election process, it is biased and NPOV to give more coverage to the incumbent (who is automatically notable due to his office) than to his opponents who, again a case could be made, achieve temporary notability, at least during the election process. I am not saying I agree with this, just that a case could be made. But I am pretty sure this has been hashed out before, since this is definitely not the first time a lesser know candidate has been deleted close to the election. Anyway, good luck moving forward.
