Hello ! I'll have to revert your edits, as the new categories unfortunately don't work either. Abkhazia for exmaple does participate at the UN, via UNPO. For now I'll just merge the two categories into one "Recognized by at least one UN member" category. It seems to be the most NPOV, and given that the former second category only contains Palestine, it isn't much of a category at all anyway. Passportguy ( talk) 16:31, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
Your edits have been reverted, as they were unfounded and carried out without consensus. The pages have arrived at their present names as per well-established consensus in the past, and before making drastic changes please evolve a consensus on the talk pages. Hi ladril. The problem is harsher than it seems. Speaking about diplomatic recognition, we can't make a simple count of embassies (otherwise, we should have to discuss about international recognition of Bhutan). You said that ROC would not be the sole state with limited recognition that has de facto embassies abroad: this is not true or, at least, the scale of this phenomenon describes Taiwan as an unicum on international plan. Removing E&C Offices leads users to merge Taiwan situation with other situations, as Transnistria or TRNC, which are completely different. US Department of State [1], the Foreign Office [2], the Auswärtiges Amt [3], the Ministero degli Affari Esteri [4], le Ministére des Affaires Etrangeres [5], and many other ones, enlist Taiwan in their webpages about foreign missions. Certainly we know the formal adhesion of all these states to the One-China policy, but we can't hide the fundamental difference that in those webpages we can't find citations about Abkhazia or TRNC or Saharawians or Somaliland. If you arrive by plane in the airports of New York or London or Rome, and you try to enter in the United States or in the UK or in the EU/Schengen with a passport of ROC, you won't find difficulties; at opposite, if you have a passport of the Republic of Transnistria, you would realized you wasted the cost of the flight ticket. This fact depends by the informal recognition that ROC has in general international community, a hidden recognition which derives by the undoubted effectivity of ROC, a sure effectivity which lacks in all other cases of non-UN members in our wiki table (Kosovo, Transnistria, TRNC, Ossetia, & Co.).-- Cusio ( talk) 17:09, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of socialist countries. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and " What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of socialist countries (3rd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. -- Erwin85Bot ( talk) 01:15, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
I recall Ladril, that you had some insight into international law and unrecognized states. I don't know your personal beliefs on Somaliland, but there is a discussion here at this template talk that's been ongoing regarding it. I ask you because I think you had a bit of knowledge in this field. I hope you join the discussion, a fresh voice would be much appreciated. Cheers! Sorry to bother here, but as you are a contributor to certain discussions at the List of sovereign states I would like to show you the recently compiled list of all proposals for sorting criteria so that you can express your opinion here. Thanks! Alinor ( talk) 13:22, 30 August 2010 (UTC)
I archived this recent post to Talk:List of sovereign states/Cook Islands and Niue, as I'm sure you'll want it with the rest of the information when the discussion arises again. Please let me know if this was okay. Nightw 12:36, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Ladril, can You vote for Niue inclusion to the list of sovereign states? If you agree with it. Jan CZ ( talk) 15:37, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
A proposal to change the layout and sorting criteria of the article List of sovereign states has been finalised and submitted for consensus.
As you were previously involved in the discussion for this change, I thought I would inform you of the final proposal. Please provide comments here. Nightw 13:20, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
I've opened up a WP:RFM for List of sovereign states at Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/List of sovereign states. Please indicate whether you agree or don't agree to mediation there. TDL ( talk) 00:39, 20 October 2010 (UTC)
I have nominated List of states with limited recognition for featured list removal here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets the featured list criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks; editors may declare to "Keep" or "Delist" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here. It seems we've finally found a mediator for this case. Please see the discussion here and indicate whether you consent to mediation. Thanks. TDL ( talk) 23:21, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
The initial MEDCAB mediator got busy and a second mediator is willing to take the case, but we need to re-state our acceptance/decline. Please see the discussion here and indicate whether you consent to mediation or not. Please, even if you don't expect to participate (because of lack of time or other reason) - state your acceptance/non-acceptance of the mediation process - so that we don't have to wait for unaccounted for users. Thanks. Alinor ( talk) 18:29, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Please read WP:CIRCULAR before editing there again. It seems plain enough to me, but if you think my interpretation of "Do not use articles from Wikipedia ... as sources" is wrong don't just revert it: just ask at WP:RSN and they will put me right. -- Old Moonraker ( talk) 17:14, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Finally got that draft done today. It's at Talk:List of sovereign states/Discussion of criteria. Nightw 11:50, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I took a look, indeed very interesting. Niue does seem to conduct itself as if it is a state in these cases; and it treated as one. Thanks, food for thought.. :) Outback the koala ( talk) 05:41, 1 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pre-Columbian trans-oceanic contact theories, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Basque ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
