The last time I'm spamming you all with Esperanza stuff

Hello Journalist. As you may or may not know, there have been some troubles with Esperanza. So now, as a last ditch to save the community, please vote at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Reform on all neccisary polls. P.S. I'm very sorry for spamming you all with these messages, and this will be the last time. I recommend putting ESP on your watchlist. Cheers and please look at that, let's stop the civil war then. Thanks for the welcome I'm glad that you made it clear that you were not a bot, having a bot welcome me would have been a little dismaying. You seem to me to be very witty, as well as smart, and I look forward to future talks with you and everyone that wishes to. KnowledgeOfSelf 20:09, 24 September 2005 (UTC) reply

Your welcome

Your welcome. Yesterday was my first day editing Wikipedia although I know about most of the policies and other things because I have been visiting this site frequently since March of this year. I have been thinking of nominating LGagnon, Harro5 and Jobe6. I fear though that if I nominate any of them now then they will be rejected because of my low edit count though. Type O Spud 20:18, 24 September 2005 (UTC) reply

Its just that I know that new editors (I'm not a stranger to policies though) usually have a stigma that even though they are acting in good faith that they are not doing whats best. Type O Spud 00:03, 25 September 2005 (UTC) reply

Support for your RfA

You're welcome. In case you're interested, I didn't know about your last RfA, but this message caught my attention and made me decide that if I didn't find anything to change my mind when looking through your contributions, I'd make a point of voting for you if you ever went up again. It's nice to see some mildness in the middle of a string of attacks on both sides! Ann Heneghan (talk) 22:22, 24 September 2005 (UTC) reply

Fair use images

Please review the images you are using on your user page. It appears that several of these are on Wikipedia under the fair use clause of US copyright law. However, fair use will generally only apply in circumstances where the subject matter is being discussed and commented on. In most circumstances, it is unlikely that this applies to images on user pages. As such, most instances of fair use images on user pages should be removed. Awww, thanks. As you mentioned, we haven't run in to eachother so far, which is the only reason I haven't voted support on your RfAr, but luckily it doesn't look like you'll need it; Therefor I'd like to use this opportunity to preemptively congratulate you on your adminship and beat the rush. -- fvw * 21:07, 26 September 2005 (UTC) reply
Hmm, that looks like I'm implying you're electioneering, which of course you're not. Just explaining my lack of vote for a good contributor -- fvw * 21:07, 26 September 2005 (UTC) reply

On an unrelated subject, your new sig appears to be having some trouble with runaway boldface, I think it's because you're not closing your <font>'s. Also, using the {{ date}} template isn't quite what you're looking for, as it just gets included which means all the dates in your signatures always display the current date instead of the date you made the comment (I fell for a similar trap once trying to put the time in a nicer format in my sig). -- fvw * 21:14, 26 September 2005 (UTC) reply

Thanks for the congrats. Greatly appreciated. By the way, do you have any idea how I can format my sig so that the date shows. I think Ive tried everything. →Journalist >>talk<<
Yup, it's Impossible, sadly. This has annoyed my quite a bit too. -- fvw * 00:16, 27 September 2005 (UTC) reply
Wait, are you asking how to specially format the timestamp that appears with signatures? What are you typing to sign your entries? — Knowledge Seeker 01:53, 27 September 2005 (UTC) reply
Journalist, I just tested your signature. If you go to Preferences, enter all the HTML, then check off Raw Signatures, it should work with four tildes. Ac e tic ' Acid 23:00, 27 September 2005 (UTC) reply
Aw, thanks. The true gift is seeing you finally conform to the norm and join the Time Stamp Club. :P Ac e tic ' Acid 00:41, 28 September 2005 (UTC) reply

I read on your talk page you like jokes so here goes..

A father asks his ten year old son Johnny , if he knows about the birds and the bees....I don't want to know; Johnny says bursting into tears. Confused, the father asks Johnny what is wrong. "Oh Daddy Johnny sobs, at age six I got the "there's no Santa" speech. At age seven I got the "there's no Easter Bunny" speech. Then at age eight you hit me with the "there's no Tooth Fairy" speech! If your going to tell me now that grown-ups don't really screw, I've got nothing left to live for!

  • Congrats on your RfA looks like it's "in the bag" KnowledgeOfSelf 19:41, 28 September 2005 (UTC) reply

Question-Answered,One More Joke,Thank You, And Help Please

Where I got that joke is from a book that was a birthday gift from my ex girlfriend;More Adult Only Jokes, and here's one more that's one of my favorites.....

  • A wife wakes in the middle of the night to find her husband missing from bed. She gets out of bed and checks around the house. She hears sobbing from the cellar. After turning on the light and descending the stairs, she finds her husband curled up in a little ball crying. "Honey whats wrong" she asks, he replies "Remember twenty years ago, I got you pregnant? And your father said I had to marry you or go to jail?" She says "Yes of course" He says "Well, today I would have been a free man!"
    • Thanks for the award brought one of those deep chuckles from my belly lol KnowledgeOfSelf 21:43, 28 September 2005 (UTC) reply
    • I wrote an article on the Immigration Restriction League, and its rather short and im not sure how to mark it as a stub, i would love if you could tell me how on my talk page or if you would mark it yourself either way i'd be very much obliged KnowledgeOfSelf 23:13, 28 September 2005 (UTC) reply

LOL that was good, see if i can 1 up ya

A newly wed couple are in their honeymoon suite, the husband is a burly 6'4 250lbs and his wife is a petite 5'5 120lbs, as they are getting ready to make love, the busband throws his pants to his new wife and says "put these on", she does, and says "they are much to big i can't wear your pants" and the husband says "exactly and don't you forget it!" So his wife takes off her panties and says "try these on" he does and can only get them up to his knees, he says "i can't get into your panties" and she says thats exactly how it's gonna stay until your attitude changes

  • and how about this one..
    • A man stumbles up the only other patron in a bar and asks if he can buy him a drink. "Why of course" comes the reply. the first mans asks "Where are ya from?" "I'm from Ireland" replies the second man. "You don't say, I'm from Ireland too! Lets have an other round to Ireland!" Of course replies the second man" curious the first man asks "Where in Irelandd you from lad?" the second man replies "Dublin" "By God man me too, lets have an other round to Dublin" "Of course" replies the second man so the first guy really curious now asks "What school did ya go to lad?" "Saint Mary's" replies the second man "I graduated in 62' Me to exclaims the first man. By this time one of the regulars comes in and sits down at the bar, "Whats been goin on" he asks the bartender The bartender says "Oh nothing much, the O'Malley twins are drunk agian. RFA

Thing is, I've been on Wikipedia for a while now, and the fact that we have 7 or so RFA nominations a week means that we would need to have 7 or so long time users with awareness, consideration, and care. Unfortunately, we don't. There have been 2-3 lately that are simply outrageous. When a person writes an article on his favorite song and immediately nominates it for FA, and it lacks references, verification, a lead, etc., what we're seeing is not merely someone who is incorrect in the nomination, but someone who doesn't feel the need to read the standards, doesn't care that folks work for months on an article, hasn't read any past FA's. The same is true of some RFA's. We have seen multiple vandals nominate themselves to administration. Since those persons are making the nomination as yet another childish bit of insult -- another attempt at farting in the elevator -- I don't think that our careful, delicately phrased oppose votes are called for. If a harsh comment in that case persuades the vandal that his next identity isn't going to pass, either, and isn't going to induce a paroxysm of self-doubt from us, then a harsh comment is not only good, but useful. I felt that was the case in the instance you mention. The other harsh one lately has been Kappa, and I sincerely believe that what's at stake with him is far greater than merely an RFA's politeness, as Tony Sidaway's (rude) "defense" (which had been lodged before I came along) shows. That instance is longstanding. I will not wear the thick gloves when anyone who ridicules VfD nominators or says "no nominations of schools" because Schoolwatch exists. In general, you'll see my votes as effusively polite or not there. Look, for example, at the neutral vote lower down.

I suppose what I'm saying is that I will not be too deliberative with the vandals and trolls, and the others have to have campaigned and/or disrupted Wikipedia to get a harsh comment, and, again, I do not feel very many newbies are bitten (and actual newbies really ought not go to RFA) or innocent are lashed. As ever, if you feel that there has been blood spilled or injustice performed, do feel free to contact me, as it is not my intent and, generally, not my belief that it should happen. Howdy, Journalist. 161.74.11.24 ( talk · contribs) claims that "King of Pop" and "Wacko Jacko" were excised from Michael Jackson's intro based on discussion somewhere that included you. I can't find it at Talk:Michael Jackson. Any clue what he's talking about? Previous consensus was that both nicknames belong in the intro, and I don't think that's changed. Thanks, android 79 14:53, 30 September 2005 (UTC) reply

  • I figured he was either misremembering things or making things up – this is the same editor who has removed references to "Wacko Jacko" from the article at least 10 times and has defaced the talk page just as much. Thanks for your timely response. android 79 18:54, 30 September 2005 (UTC) reply
