Thanks for your help on the image issues. I was hoping to edit the original map, however, my computer refuses to let me edit it. Hi there - I was unsure. They are not "titles" as such, I realize - but the translations of titles - my initial instinct was to put the translations in quotes as if to say, "here is the translated form of the name", rather than to say, "here is the title".

Hi Grk1011. I have a problem with your edit on the article Yia Sena. You changed the y to a g and I'm afraid that that is not the best representation of the album. The album has been spelt many times Yia Sena in its English translations by official record label statistics that have been written in English.

I see on your page that you say you have a near complete understanding of the Greek alphabet and a basic understanding of the language; I however speak Greek as a first language and would like to show you some of the grammatical rules:

• gamma (γάμμα)/Γ/γ in English = G/g (closest pronunciation = the strong 'g' sound) HOWEVER
• gamma + iota (γάμμα + ιώτα)/γι/ΓΙ in English = Y or Yi (closest pronunciation = the 'Yi' sound)

This represents the pronounciation of the album the best and has also previously been written this way by Rouvas' former label in English. The only article that has an excuse to be spellt with a 'g' when pronounced 'y' is Despina Vandi's Gia as it was officially registered that way by her label into the English market.

I really think your edit hinders the reader's potential for understanding the article and the album. I don't mean to insult you or start an argument, but when you don't have the best understanding of the language it would be nice if you could be willing to let someone who is fluent in the language help you as you help others in areas of your expertice. Personally, I don't know how to revert the change back to its original form and I would appreciate it if you could please move it back to Yia Sena so it can be most comprehensive to the reader.

What do you mean that is not how it is done here? Where does it state the rule that the Gamma + Iota have to be written GI instead of YI????? Nowhere! Unless you think whatever you say goes. Just because some people (who clearly do not speak Greek very well) decided to write it that way on a few articles doesn't make it right. Lots of Greek American sites make tragic mistakes in the transliteration, to the point where it is almost unpronounceable (such as Greekshops, GreekCity etc.) I am not trying to fight with you, but when you yourself state that you have a basic understanding of Greek I would have liked to help you from a fluent perspective. I'm sure that many others would agree with me about the spelling. For those who have studied Greek literature, they know that the Yi is how scholars would spell it. For example: the article Giannis Parios was redirected to Yiannis Parios because it enhances the readers' understanding. If there is no concrete rule and it helps the readers comprehension of the article, then why not just make it simple. BTW I'm sure WIKI Does NOT have a rule on the transliteration of the gamma. It should really depend on the article itself, and if the album was officially registered Yia Sena by IFPI (ENG), then that's the way it should be spellt. Wiki is about knowledge; how much knowledge can a person gain if they can't correctly pronounce what they are reading about???

Please, try to co-operate because I believe I've been quite nice to you. At least be willing to here my POV instead of claiming that's not how things are done @ wiki. It would make everyone's life so much easier ( GreekStar12 ( talk) 14:05, 24 November 2008 (UTC))

Well, You are right, the Yugoslav selection was not called Jugovizija all the time, as I can see fom the Yugoslavian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest article. But what name should I put in the infoboxes for the Yugoslavia in... articles? Should I put all the different names, or just "Yugoslavian selection for the Eurovision Song Contest"? Wikipedia albums project clearly states that albums should be categorized by year, artist, record label, then genre and possibly by producer as well. Categorizing the albums by genre does not violate Wiki rules. It is actually suggested as a requirement on the albums page and appears on most English Wikipedia album articles.

Also, the categories are broad (ie Pop, Rock, Blues) so your original research claim does not justify your reasoning. The genres of the albums have been mentioned beforehand in the infobox. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GreekStar12 ( talk • contribs) 11:43, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

I warned him that he is violating the policy which says quite clearly how the articles should be named. This is not his first warning, far from it. I tried taking a more friendly approach since he is a part of Wikiproject Eurovision with me, but he doesn't seem to be stopping the moves. I told him he would be blocked if continued and even provided him with a link to where he could discuss a possible change in the guideline, or get at least a lecture on why it should stay the way it is. Well Iv'e tried everywhere to find a redirect for page sections... but you know how much of an idiot I am so i didnt understand how to do it. In the section about redirects to page sections it gave options:

• Make new page and insert redirect to the page section
• Insert an anchor (what????)

Come on! We don't translate their names. She's totally Kejsi Tola. We've never written Ledina Çelo as Ledina Celo have we? We've always included accents and we've always written their names as their delegation says, eg. Kalomoira -> Kalomira. If somebody can't say an artist's name right, it's their own fault. Wasn't there a major edit war last year over Karolina's name because they changed it so that "everyone could say it". On Wikipedia we use their performers name that is registered by the delegation surely.
