Hi GrecoRomanNut. Thanks for your contributions! You asked about having put the same reference in the same place twice - I'm not seeing that at Euphrosyne (mythology); it seems like you've used two different references for two sentences, and that looks fine! I will say that you should try to find some better references since one of those is a wikia page. On Wikipedia we try to use reliable secondary sources such as newspapers, books, or academic papers. Openly editable wikis (including Wikipedia!) aren't reliable sources for use here because they can be changed by anyone and are summaries of other sources (a tertiary source). See if you can find a book or paper that backs up the information you added instead. - First of all, not signing your posts usually isn't a HUGE deal (unless you're on a high-traffic page like WP:ANI), so there's really o need to apologize. That message above is just a general reminder usually given to those that forget to sign their posts frequently. You also forgot to sing your comments on the posts on this page above.
- Second, the only way you get barnstars (the two big boxes at the bottom of my page) is just by being a generally good editor. I wasn't trying to get either of those barnstars. In fact, I was actually kind of surprised that I got them. The way you get barnstars is just by being a good editor and not trying to earn rewards. As for all the other boxes (including the big one at the top), they're not awards. They're userboxes. Pronunciation guide template {{ IPAc-en}}
GrecoRomanNut, I thought I'd reply to you on your talk page so it'd be easier for you to hold onto this information for reference. Templates are like functions in mathematics or computing. You call the template by saving its code and parameters in the edit window and when that page is loaded it returns (in this case) formatted text to appear in its place on the article.
If you see something that looks "neat" on an article, you can edit the article and look for the spot where the "neat" thing is and usually find a template. For example, I looked up the article on Chimera (mythology) which is where I discovered this template, then looked up the template. So we just have to figure out what they did on Chimera and reproduce it on Asterope (Hesperide).
So open up Template:IPAc-en in another window or tab so you can look at its documentation. Skip down to the examples. This is what you put into the edit window for the article. Basically, you want to have this:

Templates are always in double scroll brackets. So you have double opening scroll brackets, then the name of the template. Then, if there are parameters (some templates can be called without parameters) you have a vertical bar or "pipe". Then, each parameter in order, separated by a pipe character. Then finish with double closing scroll brackets. (Other templates may use named parameters but that's another story.)
Instead of "parameter" you want to have the codes from the table above Examples. I may not have this correct, but something like:

IPAc-en|ae|s|t|j|Er|o-|p|i}}
So, as I'm typing this, I'm going to try it out with a "show preview" to make sure that it works.

It seems to work (after going back twice to fix my mistakes!). Edit this section and you can see what I did. There are also a couple templates I used to display the template! You can copy the code immediately above this paragraph and paste it into the Asterope (Hesperide) article, but I've probably made a little mistake in there somewhere so please check my work.
I hope that's enough information for the editing that you're doing. In case it's not, I'm going to quickly tell you about two more templates which are great for getting the attention of another editor on talk pages: {{
u|username}} and {{
ping|username}}. Either of these will sent a
Notification to "username". So if you have a follow-up for me, start with {{
u|Reidgreg}} or {{

You're welcome, GrecoRomanNut! There's nothing wrong with leaving it as-is. I suppose as the article stands it would be considered a stub so merging is an option, probably with Hesperides. If you want to go that route, I would say to ask at Talk:Hesperides or one of the Wikiprojects listed at Talk:Asterope (Hesperide).
BTW, for illustrative purposes, I added a few characters at the beginning of what you wrote, above. You can see them by editing the section. The colon (:) indents text, which is a practice used on talk pages to help distinguish material written by different editors in a discussion. I also put the template {{ u}} around my username so it would give me an alert (it also links to my userpage). Well, to let you know, I've only just passed the six-month mark as an active editor. (I answered your question while waiting for an answer to one of mine!) I probably spent most of my first month reading through documentation and learning my way around. The Manual of Style is a must-read, The Missing Manual is a fairly thorough treatment on editing, there are are lot of help files (so many that the help system has its own help file), and there are some very insightful essays. Then consider joining or volunteering with a WikiProject. There are a lot of them. Some focus on a topic, like Wikipedia:WikiProject Mythology, while others focus on tasks, like Wikipedia:WikiProject Merge.
The first WikiProject I joined was the Typo Team which is about as simple as it gets: pick a typo from an enormous list, click on the search (already set up) and check the articles listed for that typo, fixing them as you go. It's a simple gnomish task but requires a human to check the context and be certain the typos are really typos. It also takes you on a nice tour of pages you might not otherwise have visited. Pages with typos may have other issues, and as I noticed them I investigated a bit and learned how to fix a lot of them, too.
Many WikiProjects will have a backlog or a to-do list to make it easy for new members to jump in and help. Just look for a WikiProject that sounds interesting to you, read the Project's guide to make sure you understand the best way to help, and you can get started. Thank you, Typo Team sounds great for me because I am running out of Greek pages to edit, or ones that info can be found on. Most of the Stubs cannot be enlarged. At all. Because of their minimal action in myths. Like a local river deity to a small village in the corner of Greece. Anyway, Thank you because Typo sounds good because, like you said, I could find other pages. As a Wiki Editor, I am always grappling for more knowledge, even random facts. So thank you, I have been an editor for about 1-2 months, still am learning :D

Oh, Lugnuts, thank you. I was not aware of this. I have been participating in the editathon, and I could not find any more info without like creating my own, which is against wikipedia "laws". So what do you suppose I do?
