Hello, EaglesEyes1, and
welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.
I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the
student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out

Hello, EaglesEyes1, and welcome to Wikipedia! The problem at the article is now fixed; in brief, you tried to define a reference using the name ":13", but it was already in use somewhere else in the article for something else. The gory details follow.
The error was introduced in revision
1147591354 of 23:24, 31 March 2023, when in new section
§ Frequently consumed insect species you added this reference at the end of the first sentence:
<ref name=":13">{{Cite web |last=Jongema |first=Yde |date=2017-04-01 |title=List of edible insects of the world (April 1, 2017) |url=https://www.wur.nl/en/research-results/chair-groups/plant-sciences/laboratory-of-entomology/edible-insects/worldwide-species-list.htm |access-date=2023-03-31 |website=Wageningen University & Research |language=en-us}}</ref>
with
reference name ":13". However, if you look lower down in that same old revision, you will see that in section
USA and Canada that reference name ":13" was already used, at the end of paragraph two (after the words, "...and FDA's implementing regulations"), but here it is being defined to refer to "Edible Insects: Future prospects for food and security"; that is, ":13" was already defined in that section, when you tried to use ":13" higher up, to refer to the Jongema piece, and that's invalid, as the mediawiki software, when it later sees <ref name=":13" /> in the code, it doesn't know which one of the two you mean.
To fix it, for starters, I changed the reference name definition for ":13" in section #USA and Canada to "van Huis-2013" (and beefed up the rest of the parameters in that ref), and also changed the ref in the lead paragraph to match, which was the only other use of name ":13" in the prior version, rev.
1147591111 of 23:22, 31 March 2023. Two minutes later, you made the offending edit which also assigned the Jongema article to name "13", so all the remaining ":13"s belonged to that, and I changed them all, including the definition, to "Jongema-2017". You can see that fix in rev.
1147654659 of 09:45, 1 April, and if you scroll down, you'll see that the citation error is gone. Don't worry if this explanation makes little sense to you; the main point is, the problem is fixed, and you're good to go.
At that point, we could've left it, but since a lot of these errors are exacerbated by Visual Editor's
confusing numeric reference names, I took it a step further, and used the
RefRenamer script to convert all the rest of the numeric ref names in the whole article to logical names of the format, "Lastname-YYYY", where 'YYYY' is the year of publication. The article should be a lot easier to work with, now. Your article topic looks interesting, and I'm going to give it a read-through, just for fun. Good luck with your class!

Post-script: I do have one question for you: in that 23:24 edit when you first added the new section
§ Frequently consumed insect species and the Jongema ref, were you using Visual Editor at that point, or another one? I'm trying to figure out how the ":13" got in there as the ref name for the Jongema ref; can you shed any light on that? Do you recall what happened? This isn't on you, so don't worry; it's just that Visual Editor has some bugs, and this might be one of them, or maybe even a new one, so if you remember what happened, it could be helpful. Thanks,

This all makes sense, thank you for the assistance and the explanation. As I recall (I made a lot edits last night), I transferred in Source mode from my sandbox initially, but received the error after making adjustments in Visual Editor. The error popped up, first time I've seen that. I attempted to correct it in Source mode, but couldn't figure it out.
You're most welcome.

Eagleseyes1, do you by any chance remember
this edit to your subpage
User:EaglesEyes1/Insects as food of 22:40, 31 March 2023? (That's UTC time; that would've been 6:40 p.m. in Carleton's time zone.) Do you recall if you used Visual Editor for that one? Your edit summary was "updated species data, updated citation" and you can click
here to see a "diff" (before-after image) of that edit. If you remember anything else about that edit, it could be helpful. Thanks,
