The page User:Disha Gahlot/sandbox/Dr Sumer Sethi has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

This page has been created for a biography. Bipgraphy means stating someone's life and the events in a respectable manner such that it can be read by others. Read any great person's biography from any field and then discuss what do you exactly mean by a promotion of a person, group etc. I have stated facts from reliable and published sources and the article was not finished. It was still in the sandbox till complete refinement. The page should NOT have been deleted and I want t5o retrieve the entire deleted material for improvement.

Hello Disha Gahlot. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to User:Disha Gahlot/sandbox/Dr Sumer Sethi, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Disha Gahlot. The template {{ Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Disha Gahlot|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. creffett ( talk) 01:08, 19 May 2020 (UTC) reply

I have no intention of getting paid from anyone for such work. I have stated facts and figures from reliable and published sources to have a good biography on wikipedia. This page is not meant to generate money, you are 100% wrong and unreasonable. Even if you think of any reason to delete, communicate with the user first instead of taking extreme steps. Learn to show some respect for somneone's time and work.

The page should not have been deleted without any notice. If the admin sees any issue, it should be notified to the user to make the necessary changes instead of taking extreme steps of speedy deletion. Kindly undo. It is a biography page and is not intended to promote anything/anyone. Just stating facts and figures from reliable sources is not promotional activity. I need to retrieve the deleted material to publish with improvements. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Disha Gahlot ( talkcontribs)

Wikipedia and its volunteers are under no obligation to host or maintain blatantly promotional content, which is what you created. Please read WP:COI and abide by the guidelines therein. Please don't tell me there is no conflict of interest; your deleted contributions would be over the top even if they were to be used as part of a marketing campaign let alone an encyclopedia article.-- Jezebel's Ponyo bons mots 02:45, 19 May 2020 (UTC) reply

This is not any marketing campaign. I'm a doctor and I have mentioned facts about someone's life who has done excellent work in the field of medical education in India. You can read it properly and go to all the links mentioned from published sources and then give your opinion. If you still find something wrong, then kindly mention specifically and edit what you see as wrong.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Disha Gahlot ( talkcontribs)

Have you read WP:COI yet?-- Jezebel's Ponyo bons mots 03:03, 19 May 2020 (UTC) reply

Yes, I have read and it's not applicable here. I'm a third-party person who is not related in any way as mentioned in WP:COI. So the question of any conflict of interest doesn't even arise here. You can check every possible source to verify.

I find it difficult to believe that you have no connection whatsoever with Gahlot given your fawning prose in the deleted sandbox. It's nearly always those too close to the subject that are incapable of seeing how their edits fall afoul of the requirement to write neutrally as opposed to writing a borderline hagiography. If the draft were to be wholly rewritten in a tone that would be acceptable for publication in main space and an editor added a well sourced section that included negative content or summarised controversies surrounding the subject, would that be ok with you?-- Jezebel's Ponyo bons mots 19:52, 19 May 2020 (UTC) reply

If you believe its a hagiography, then the draft will be rephrased along with addition of negative content. It sounds fine. And a lot of citations are still left. The only purpose of creating it in the sandbox was to refine it as much as possible before submitting it in main space. But if such interference exists, then it's better to do the entire editing work offline and then copy paste it here. There should be a more systematic way to tackle drafts. Give time for the user to complete it and when it's given for submission, all the volunteers can give their constructive feedback for improvement, things to be changed etc. I think that's more organised way to do it.

There is such a process, it's explained in the welcome message on the top of this page.-- Jezebel's Ponyo bons mots 17:08, 20 May 2020 (UTC) reply

The draft you created is now up for review at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2020 May 19. I moved it from the incorrect place you made the nomination. You may comment there if you so choose. If you do, I would advise you to be more temperate in your phrasing, and not accuse others of bad motives, as you did in your nomination statement. Do remember thjat Wikipedia is entirely writn by unpaid volunteers, and has no ,professional editors. Do also understand that the speedy deletion criteria authorize the deletion of clearly promotional pages anywhere in Wikipedia, without warning or discussion. In the meantime, I have temporarily undeleted the draft, so you can copy the text should you wish to. DES (talk) DESiegel Contribs 21:48, 19 May 2020 (UTC) reply

I will wait for the review. I can't find the draft to copy the text, where is it?
Go to User:Disha Gahlot/sandbox/Dr Sumer Sethi. Click "View history". Serlect the date of the revision you wish to see, quite probably the latest one for 18 May 2020‎. The source will be displayed, or you can click the "preview" buitton to see the rendered form of that revision. DES (talk) DESiegel Contribs 11:22, 20 May 2020 (UTC) reply

Thank you. I have taken all the information. You can delete it now.
