- Hi. I just happened on your article about Elizabeth Chambers, a compelling story about a remarkable woman. I am writing because I have not been here so very long myself, and I know that this sort of AFD notice feels like a personal attack. The thing is, it takes a while to get your sea legs, to figure out what sort of topic can be sourced, and which stories are, ultimately, not notable - no matter how compelling. I do hope that you will not let this discourage you - I actually suspect that almost all new editors have rocky starts. I know I did. I do hope that you will stick it out, because we need good editors in almost every topic, and certainly on American history and about accomplished but forgotten women. I am E. Whittaker, I am working with Wikimedia’s Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. A full write-up of the study can be found here: m:Research:Civil_Behavior_Interviews. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? I am contacting you because of your involvement in Wikipedia’s Women in Red project. | In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women.
