Categories are often placed in several other categories. See Wikipedia:Categorization for more info on categories. As far as the convention-- yes, it has been what we've been doing. It's done at every nationality's hip hop groups category.(See Category:Hip hop groups by nationality).

The reason we do it this way is so that someone can be looking at Category:Hong Kong hip hop, then head over to Category:Hong Kong hip hop musicians, and then choose between rappers and groups. Makes navigation better. Peace, -- Urthogie 23:22, 14 April 2006 (UTC) reply

Just curious. One example of a prominent underground hip-hop group in HK is Likalento. But its members are Filipinos who are either from The Philippines or are born and raised in HK. And they are based in HK as well. Would they be classified as a HK hip-hop group or a Filipino hip-hop group?

I'm of the generation that is still to be pursuaded I need a cell phone, so I haven't a web cam etc. The only video footage of performances of myself I have access to is a 9 year old unedited video tape of a 30min TV programme on my playing. Thankyou for the vote of confidence - but I'm not a touring concert artist, merely a working musician specialising in classical guitar performance and tuition.

LOL. I suspect the "legendary creature" that the Japanese encountered or heard (probably when visiting south China around 6-8th century) is this. Because 猩猩 in Chinese means Orangutan. Also, Orangutan is known for their reddish-brown hair. All other Chinese websites I see and daily usage indicate 猩猩= Orangutan. Since it is a specie that is native to south-east asia and probably new to Japanese eyes ( in 6-8th century) , plus all the hearsay, it became a "legendary creature" and inspiration for Noh play. XDXD

Yeah, it is also used to mean "orangutan" in Japanese, too, but the (unreferenced) Japanese Wikipedia page says that the "legendary creature" comes from China. Do you really think someone is going to get these confused, or if by some stretch they get to the wrong article, that they will remain confused? Or think of it another way - I see words in articles that I think should be linked, but there is this idea that too many links spoil things, so I don't link just everything I think of. As Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia and not an instruction book, it is improper for an article to say "if rice is served on a plate, eat it with a spoon or fork." Wording like "it is acceptable to eat rice with a spoon or fork" is more desirable.

Look, the section is about "Chinese etiquette" , and in Chinese etiquette there is no such thing as eating rice with fork. So any memtion about fork's usage using should be removed.

Hi re this revert: RV disruptive editing. Missing DOB is not a vaild reason to remove names, if DOB need to be included, they could be added. Jin is Chinese (evidented by his Chinese family name 歐陽).

I didn't remove any names because DoB was missing (but I DID however ADD the DoB for two: [1] !)

The two I did remove were Janice Vidal and Jill Vidal - because their respective articles make it clear that they don't fit the "...people best known by a pseudonym consisting of a single word" criteria stated at the top of the List of one-word stage names page. The edit summary said: not BEST known by single names - note their article names

I you think the Jin (rapper) article should state Chinese American instead of Asian American then please make that change first and then edit List of one-word stage names#J to match.

The title of Janice Vidal and Jill Vidal is named using their full name, but but media coverage and their music publication mentionin their full name is rare. "Best known" here means media coverage and how their name is refereced in publication, not "the wikipedia article title".

"Best known name" is not defined using the article's title, if that's the case, as Beyoncé's article's title is Beyoncé Knowles too, Beyoncé's name should be removed from the list?

As for Jin, please read the article and find out facts about his parents first. Ok I've looked over the history and I understand what was going on now.

You created Firewall (computer) and copied the info that was on Firewall there. You probably did th is because Firewall (networking) already existed as a redirect.

Then you updated the Firewall (disambiguation) page. Then you placed a speedy on Firewall (construction), and you copy pasted the Firewall (construction) content into Firewall.

This chain of events is kind of problematic for the copyright reasons I outlined above. I think the best way to fix this is to undo those edits, and then to delete Firewall (networking) so that we can move the old version of Firewall to Firewall (networking) (maybe Firewall (computer) can be a redirect). After Firewall is moved to Firewall (networking) we can delete Firewall and then move Firewall (construction) to Firewall. Then, update the disambiguation page appropriatelly.

A few issues this brings up:

1. There really was no discussion on the issue. I realized some time passed, but perhaps a little more widespread discussion is appropriate.
2. The stats on these two are way off. Firewall (construction) has about 200 page views a day. Firewall (the one refering to the networking one) has about 3,000 a day ( [2]).

Hi! Sorry for disturbing you. :) I noticed you had removed a photo of Momoiro Clover Z from some articles. I think it's one of few decent photos of Japanese bands in Wikipedia Commons and it will make many articles look cuter. It is also probably the only up-to-date photo of a Japanese idol group. For example, I think the article " Japanese idol" should have these 3 pictures: AKB48 (I think it is better than the current one.), Momoiro Clover Z, Morning Musume. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
