Future changes
A change that was
announced last year was delayed. It is now ready to move ahead:
The user group oversight will be renamed suppress. This is for
technical reasons. This is the technical name. It doesn't affect what you call the editors with this user right on your wiki. This is planned to happen in three weeks. You can comment
in Phabricator if you have objections. As usual, these labels can be translated on translatewiki (
direct links are available) or by administrators on your wiki.

Hi Cassiopeia - I'm a volunteer at Skate Australia, apologies if I have edited incorrectly. My updated information is accurate and I believed that the edits were quite constructive. Some of the existing information on the page is inaccurate and the strategic plan referenced is many years out of date and no longer exists. I can't list a source because I am the source. The only source online source for this information would be the Skate Australia website www.skateaustralia.org.au Joskates

(
talk page watcher) hi ip user! unfortunately, wikipedia edits have to be
verifiable. this means that unfortunately, having your own knowledge about what happened is not usable (and counts as
original research, and since you're his friend, also a possible
conflict of interest), unless it was published in say, a news article, since nobody can verify it through a
reliable source. happy editing! melecie t - 01:44, 3 February 2022 (UTC)
Querying revert
Hi, Cassiopeia. I was wondering if you could explain
this revert? You removed for lack of a reliable source, but the content in question had 10 citations to what appear to be reliable sources. Am I missing something? --
Tamzincetacean needed (she/they) 06:23, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
Tamzin Good day. There are some part that was unsourced which you than then added back and I have just removed it. You are welcome to add it back if you can provide independent, reliable for verification and the editor who added/changed the content need to provide the source for verification - see
WP:PROVEIT and
WP:BURDEN.
Cassiopeiatalk 06:55, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
It's not my addition, but rather another editor's, which I now see you've discussed a few sections up. Looking at your answer to them, I'm concerned here. You can't revert 6kB worth of additions because a few sentences aren't sourced. That is removal of sourced material, which, as I'm sure you know as a veteran recent change patroller, is generally considered
disruptive editing. If I saw
this edit coming from a new user, I would revert it and template them with {{
subst:uw-delete1}}, and I'm guessing you would too.Furthermore, in your more recent edit, did you check the sources that were already in the article before removing as unsourced? Of what you just removed, the first chunk was
entirely sourceable to
the ref immediately preceding the content and
the ref immediately following it. I'm guessing the rest could be sourced to the existing references quite easily as well. One of the main things I do in mainspace is remove unsourced content, so I appreciate the importance of not letting unsourced statements sit around in articles forever, but it's important to keep in mind what
the policy section you cited says: Whether and how quickly material should be initially removed for not having an inline citation to a reliable source depends on the material and the overall state of the article. In some cases, editors may object if you remove material without giving them time to provide references. Consider adding a citation needed tag as an interim step.--
Tamzincetacean needed (she/they) 07:11, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
Tamzin,
This are your edits. We use Huggle and Huggle will remove all edits of the editor pre and subsequence edits. Editor always can find their edit on the history log and can always add back the sourced content. Editor can always come to counter vandalism editor talk page and discuss the revert if the want. I am familiar with unsourced /disruptive edits or vandalism for I am one of the counter vandalism trainers in Wikipedia. Remember to add sources next time that the info and you added or changed next time (and note also when you added them back including the unsourced content) as per
WP:PROVEIT and
WP:BURDEN .
Cassiopeiatalk 07:18, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
Cassiopeia, I don't think you're following me here. These are not my edits. You should be able to see that from how they... aren't. I know what Huggle is. I know what RCP is. I'm not nearly as active an RCPer as you, but it is something I do from time to time, and I have been doing it for longer than you've had this account. That's not me trying to pull "seniority", to be clear; I'm trying to get you to understand that this is me, a fellow experienced Wikipedian, coming to you with concerns about a revert you have made. I am not some newbie asking "Why did you revert my edit?"You cannot revert 6kB of mostly-good content because a few sentences are unsourced. That is a basic, basic aspect of how reverting works on Wikipedia. And using rollback and Huggle is not an excuse. That's a basic principle of using any semi-automated tool on Wikipedia. You take full responsibility for every edit you make. The fact that edits are stored in the history is not enough, as the same could be said of any revert. There is no policy or guideline that justifies the revert you made. I need to know that you understand that. Do you? Because if you don't understand that, you need to hand in your rollbacker bit. --
Tamzincetacean needed (she/they) 07:29, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
Tamzin, I see, that are not your edits but your have questions. Since you understand what HG is then you know how the edits were reverted. Since you are an experienced editor then kindly help up on counter vandalism for that would be appreciated for you know there is so much work that help is needed.
Cassiopeiatalk 07:49, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
There is a warning at the top of
WP:HUGGLE stating, Warning: You take full responsibility for any action you perform using Huggle. You must understand
Wikipedia policies and use this tool within these policies, or risk losing access to the tool or even being
blocked from editing. Furthermore, even if this was a tool glitch, when
Cornmazes asked about the revert you went back and linked to the edits you'd reverted, so at that point you were aware you had over-reverted, and
should have fixed it. Instead, you gave them a generic response that didn't apply, and then gave me that same kind of response twice.Do you not see the issue here? I am seriously troubled about your fitness to be a recent change patroller, let alone a trainer of other RCPers, both in terms of your use of rollback/Huggle and the way you communicate with users who question your reverts. --
Tamzincetacean needed (she/they) 08:01, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
Tamzin, Likewise, and I have responded and as mentioned, since you have time and experienced do help in counter vandalism work as you didnt reply. Anyway, you have said what you said and I have nothing to add. stays safe and best.
Cassiopeiatalk 08:15, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
Since there have been communication issues up till now, I am going to be very transparent and direct: If I see another thread where someone challenges a flawed revert you made, and you give them a generic response like you gave Cornmazes and me, I will ask at
WP:AN/I that your rollback access be revoked. --
Tamzincetacean needed (she/they) 08:18, 5 February 2022 (UTC)
Tamzin, You have said that already, in a different way. stay safe Tamzin and do help on counter vandalism as you have time and experience to do so.

February 2022
Your recent editing history at
Joe Rogan shows that you are currently engaged in an
edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the
talk page to work toward making a version that represents
consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See
the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant
noticeboard or seek
dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary
page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being
blocked from editing—especially if you violate the
three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three
reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Please stop edit warring and follow
WP:BRD. The content has been removed by more than one user. Please revert your edit and discuss on the talk page.JOEBRO64 00:07, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
TheJoebro64 I heard you. Pls do not removed well-sourced and significant content for that is disruptive. Info can be easily moved to other section and they have had. Stay safe and best.
Cassiopeiatalk 00:12, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
The issue is not the sourcing. It's that the content falls outside the article's scope. It's not significant to Rogan's biography in the slightest. It definitely warrents a mention in The Joe Rogan Experience article, but not the Joe Rogan article. And re: disruption—you're the one who's being disruptive, hence why I warned you about edit-warring. 00:13, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
TheJoebro64 It is disruptive to remove well-sourced content and I not even give you a warning for removing the info a few times yet you give ma edit warring. Secondly we can add in the info in 'brief", as I did (just one short sentence) JR info as there is a section of Spotify deal and all the current racial slur and covid info and we can add the removal of episodes in longer version in JRE article. It is always how it is done, a long info in main article and short info in related article. Also we can make a "main page" link form JR's JRE info to JRE article. Stay safe.

MMA guidelines
Hi Cassiopeia,
I can't seem to find the 'Wikipedia MMA guidelines'? If possible I'd like to discuss that rule wherever its appropriate to do so. I genuinely don't understand why flags can be used for boxing, wrestling, submission grappling etc but specifically not MMA?
