I've added the "{{ prod}}" template to the article Insidious Big Brother Database, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also " What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Insidious Big Brother Database. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. As a general rule, software is notable once it has been written about independently (outside of Wikipedia and its own website and promotion). The full details are at WP:SOFTWARE. I recently came accross references to "IH-35", instead of the normal "I-35" abbreviation, and I see it's mentioned once in this article. Is this a Texas thing? Is it common? Why do they even do this... what's wrong with plain "I-35"? -- Bigpeteb ( talk) 15:45, 5 December 2011 (UTC) reply

It's a Texas thing. TxDOT uses two-letter abbreviations for each type of highway it maintains. {{ TxDOT}}, which is one of the reference templates used, has a chart of those abbreviations, which includes IH for the Interstates. Imzadi 1979  → 02:04, 3 March 2013 (UTC) reply

I notice that you re-added a bunch of nonsense about jalapeno varieties to the article jalapeno. This material, obviously made up, was added by an IP editor and then removed by the same IP address a day later. You re-added it shortly thereafter. Wow, I must have been drugged up at the time. I have no idea why I looked at that and thought it needed to stay. Maybe I just saw the "section blanking" tag and reacted based on that without looking further into the history. I appreciate your desire for good examples, It would much better if you provided better examples rather that just removing what you consider poor examples. Well, I've certainly seen edits with greater COI problems than these ones to Martin Castle that you reverted, but consider that:

• All the edits were made by a single-purpose, corporate account.
• Edits 1 and 2 added an external link to the corporate site, plus another to a two-sentence promo piece in Architectural Digest.
• Edits 3 and 4 congratulated the new purchaser for "performing massive renovations" and promoted the "boutique hotel, event space, and ... Castle Farms restaurant."

I wasn't really disputing that the property was sold in 2017. Thanks for taking the time to source that info. Maybe I should have been clearer that my objections were based on WP:COI, WP:LINKSPAM, MOS:PUFF and WP:CORPNAME. Perhaps eventually, an editor with an abiding interest in 20th-century pastiche will come along and invest the time to make this article encyclopedic.
