Adab

Adab from an Indian wikipedian. -- Bhadani 09:13, 16 March 2006 (UTC) reply

Hi,

We started a proposal Wikipedia:Wikiethics to state the existing policies coherently and make suggestions on improving the editorial standards in Wiki. I thought you might be interested in contributing to that proposal.

Unfortunately, a pro-porn and pro-offense lobby is trying to make this proposal a failure. They unilaterally started an approval poll although almost no one including me believe that it is time for a vote, simply because the policy is not ready. It is not even written completely.

Editors who thinks that the policy needs to be improved rather than killed by an unfair poll at the beginning of the proposal, started another poll ('Do we really need a poll at this stage?') at the same time. The poll is vandalized for a while but it is stable now. A NO vote on this ('Do we really need a poll now?') poll will strengthen the position of the editors who are willing to improve the ethics policy further.

If you have concerns about the ethics and editorial standards in Wiki, please visit the page Wikipedia:Wikiethics with your suggestions on the policy. We have two subpages: Arguments and Sections. You might want to consider reviewing these pages as well...

Thanks in advance. Resid Gulerdem 21:25, 22 March 2006 (UTC) reply

Need your Help

I need support in editing the page for Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh from Pakistani-Wikipedians. The page concludes Pakistans link to 9/11 using information from Indian press and much information in that page is without proper references. The page says that ISI gives money to Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and Sheikh then wired the money to Atta. I have checked some of the references on that page and information in the references is different from what is mentioned in it. I will appreciate any help because I have very less free time these days... Faisal 16:58, 10 April 2006 (UTC) reply

I will gladly help you on this matter. Ali 15:48 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you Ali for your reply. There are plenty of articles related to Islam that need your support. For example Dhimmi, Muhammad, Jizya and the list goes one. For more detail be a member of The Muslim Guild and add articles in your watch list. Your revert can make a big difference. Also if you could do research and improve articles like Dhimmi then it would be great service. --- Faisal 19:08, 4 June 2006 (UTC) reply

SUPARCO

Hi Ali. A significant part of the article is copied word for word, and in fact even the reference numbers (those numbers written in box brackets) have not been removed. I would encourage you to write the article in your own words, and I'll be glad if there's anything I can help you with. Thanks deeptrivia ( talk) 03:02, 5 June 2006 (UTC) reply

Image copyright problem with Image:Shaheen_II_missile.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Shaheen_II_missile.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Islamic Barnstar Award

Please offer your opinion, vote, or whatever about your choice for the image to be used with the Islamic Barnstar Award at the Barnstar proposals page. Although there is consensus for the concept of an Islamic Barnstar Award, some editors would like to change the image for the award. I was just thinking you should be aware of this discussion because you have contributed to Islamic-related articles, received the Islamic Barnstar Award, or have contributed to the Islam-related Wikiprojects, etc.-- JuanMuslim 1m 16:19, 22 August 2006 (UTC) reply

Pak 5,000 rupee note

I saw you've uploaded this image to the right: File:PKR 5000 Front.jpg. But in the State Bank of Pakistan website, it shows a different style of the Rs. 5000 currency note. Which one is the newer one. I'm thinking that the SBP website contains the new one, since it's the official site. pl explain. Idleguy 13:31, 12 November 2006 (UTC) reply

Non-free use disputed for Image:Hatf-I.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Hatf-I.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 23:42, 5 June 2007 (UTC) reply

Fair use rationale for Image:PKR 5000 Front.jpg

Image:PKR 5000 Front.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:PKR 5000 Front.jpg

Thank you for uploading Image:PKR 5000 Front.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot ( talk) 14:31, 8 March 2008 (UTC) reply

Urdu Wikipedia

Dear friend,

You seem to be an active Wikipedian from Pakistan. We have an Urdu Wikipedia that needs all the help that it can get. Currently, we do not have many active users and we will really appreciate if you would consider becoming an active contributor. As you are already familiar with Wikipedia's style and rules, your presence would also help elevate the overall content quality.

Hope to see you soon at Urdu Wikipedia

File permission problem with File:PKR 5000 Back.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:PKR 5000 Back.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{ OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{ non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG ( talk) 20:39, 19 June 2013 (UTC) reply
