Thank you for uploading Image:Ndadaye.jpg. Its copyright status is unclear, so it may have to be deleted. Please leave a note on the image page about the source of the image. Thank you.

I notice that you're still up-loading (rather small) images of various people, none of them with copyright templates (they look as though they might be taken from Web-sites). Please add the correct template to them, otherwise they're likely to be put up for deletion. Mel Etitis ( Μελ Ετητης) 08:30, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)

CNDD-FDD

After seeing your edit to CNDD-FDD, I just wanted to drop you a line telling you what a pleasant surprise it was to see a knowledgeable correction of an overlooked detail in one of the less-well trafficked regions of Wikipedia. Thanks and happy editing! - Banyan Tree 21:33, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Prime Minister of Uganda

Great job on Prime Minister of Uganda! Was also wondering whether the President or the Prime Minister is the head of government in Uganda. The president certainly wields more power. TreveX talk 20:12, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

The president is the head of state and government while the Prime Minister assists the president in the supervision of the cabinet. Acntx 07:29, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright

Thanks for uploading the images you added to the article on the Guinea-Bissau Civil War. You really need to include an image copyright tag on an image when you upload it to Wikipedia, please take a look at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and Wikipedia:Fairuse and tag your images accordingly. Thanks. -- nixie 13:06, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Moving pages

It's great to see your many useful contributions to articles on Africa. Please note that if you need to move a page, you should not cut and paste as this destroys the page history. Instead, use the "move" button, at the top of every page while you are logged in. Please also do not create unneccesary disambiguation, such as moving all cities in Sierra Leone to x, Sierra Leone - it is not needed and is out of step with all other Africa countries (and almost all around the world). You can always create a redirect from x, Sierra Leone to the page if you feel it would be useful. thanks, Warofdreams 12:15, 11 July 2005 (UTC)

Tanzanian region images

Hi, thanks for adding these, great work! — Matt Crypto 20:26, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Hi, great job - could you be so kind to put the map to commons? I need them for sw.wikipedia.
And as you are a genius on maps: the districts would be great as well ! There are district drawings in

http://www.tanzania.go.tz/census/regions.htm if opened region by region. Unfortunately they have English names which is unfortunate for other-language versions as far as the urban / rural districts are concerned. And they may not be available for common use as there is no copyright note on them. -- Kipala 16:09, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Ugandan district images

Superb job!! I was thinking of doing something similiar but was put off by the magnitude of the task! TreveX talk 15:49, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

Images

Please, when you upload an image to the Wikipedia, do it at commons:Special:Upload in commons: in order to make them available to all the wikipedias, not just the english one. Than you very much, -- 80.130.196.64 21:50, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ovamboland Flag.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, so its copyright status is therefore unclear. Please add a tag to let us know its copyright status. (If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know on the image description page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Thanks so much. -- Secret london 20:50, 23 August 2005 (UTC)

It seems that we need source information and license info for all flag images. Thanks. Secret london 20:50, 23 August 2005 (UTC)

Redirects

Hi! I noticed you were creating redirects to non-existent pages, such as ULIMO-J and ULIMO-K. Unless you intend to create the pages that the redirects lead to, they are very susceptible to be speedily deleted. I'm just asking to check whether you're going to do this. If you are, I'd like to remind you that you should usually create the target page before making any redirects there to avoid misunderstandings on the part of delete-happy administrators. - ulayiti (my talk) 07:36, 25 August 2005 (UTC)

Hello, I am writing you because I noticed you edited the article Regions of Tanzania. There are a few problems right now.

First: It needs to be decided what to call the articles relating to the Regions of Tanzania; here the articles are refered to as "(name of region) Region, Tanzania", while here they are usually just referred to by the name of the region, or are in the same article as the capital of the region (where the capital has the same name). This needs to be systemized.

Second:There need to be articles for all regions of Tanzania.

I hope you will help me figure out this mess.-- Carabinieri 20:28, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

Page moves, redirects, and wikilinks

Aloha. Please read the comments left by Carabinieri before moving pages. I see that you have moved Mtwara to Mtwara Region in order to disambiguate, but I don't think this is the correct title. The link should go to the most common usage. If the region needs disambiguation, then Mtwara (region) might suffice. Before moving these pages, it might be wise to place a notice on the talk page and wait a few days. Thanks. -- Viriditas | Talk 09:49, 8 September 2005 (UTC)

African flags

Hi, I've cleaned up and recompressed some African flags you've uploaded, since PNG is an overall better format for flags than JPEG:

Therefore I've listed the JPG versions for deletion. Hope this is OK. Mysid (talk) 10:35, 29 September 2005 (UTC)

Burkina Faso

I noticed that you were adding a lot of Burkina Faso-related articles and that you were putting them all in the West-African stubcategory...I created {{burkina-faso-stub}} so that the West-African category doesn't get flooded with a lot of regional topics. I hope this is ok. -- SoothingR 09:33, 10 October 2005 (UTC)

Civil War in Sierra Leone

I see this is a project? of yours. Do you have a basic layout or anything for it yet? I would love to contribute, but it seems like a big topic to tackle alone at this early point in my wikipedia career. Let me know if you create User:Acntx/Sierra Leonean Civil War, and I'll stop by and add stuff when I have time. Today I fixed up Lomé Peace Accord, btw, so please have a look.

oops, I didnt notice, but that article exists now: Sierra Leone Civil War

List of Presidents of Sierra Leone

I've suggested a merger for that page. Please let me know what you think, and what you think of User:Smmurphy/List of Heads of State in Sierra Leone. Thanks. Smmurphy 07:46, 29 October 2005 (UTC)

Belated welcome

Hi there! I've somehow not run into your edits until today, even though you and I seem to frequent some of the same articles. At any rate, welcome to Wikipedia; it's good to have another Sub-Saharan Africa editor. I concentrate primarily on Cameroon; any help there would be appreciated, but more importantly, just keep contributing. One other thing -- do remember to use edit summaries; they let other editors see what you're doing without having to load the whole page first (and some editors become quite grumpy when others don't use them -- best avoided :)). See you around! -- BrianSmithson 12:47, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

PM of SVG

I was wondering if you were aware of the fact that the PM of SVG page redirects to the List of PMs of SVG. Unless you plan to create a page at PM of SVG, wouldn't it be better to link directly, rather than through the redirect? Guettarda 21:28, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

praise

Thank you very much for your articles about elections in Africa. They are an incredible resource that can not easily be found on the internet. But do you add these elections to the electoral calendar? most of the ones listed on your user page are not there. I suggest adding new articles that you create for elections to that calendar, that way people can find them easier. -- MateoP 04:03, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Africa Award

Acntx is presented this Africa Award for his valuable contributions on sub-Saharan Africa, including neat region maps for several countries, important work on African elections, and much more. Presented by mark d from the Africa-related regional notice board

Hi Acntx, I'm not sure we ever met during the course of normal editing (I largely confine myself to African languages and linguistics), but I am impressed by your work, and the many thankful messages on your talk speak for themselves. Please accept this Africa Award for your important contributions, and keep up the good work! Kind regards, — mark 22:01, 16 December 2005 (UTC)

Your maps

I notice you've been making some maps lately. They're not bad, I prefer my own work but I won't overrule yours, our work is quite similar. :) However, this one caught my eye:

Compare with:

The second was created by me. You claim authorship of the first one, but the words are in exactly the same place, save for Greater Accra, which is in an obviously different font. It looks like the internal orders in both maps are identical, while you redrew the external border (most easily seen on the northwestern border, mine is a straight line). I know you've done your own work, I can see the differences in our Gabon maps, yours is more detailed on the coast. But this is curious. Please explain this. Thank you. -- Golbez 10:58, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Thank you, though in the future, I'd rather you bring your suggestions to me so I can edit it. Constructive criticism is good! -- Golbez 11:49, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Edward Ikem Okeke

Hi Acntx: would you like to have a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Comrade Dr. Edward Ikem Okeke and perhaps draw attention to it for anyone else who might be knowledgeable about him? I'm not sure the grounds being proposed for deletion are sensible. -- JimR 06:48, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

The PDF link under the Freedom House maps is dead and I couldn't find the actual link. I was going to change the link to the general Freedom in the World section of Freedom House's site, but the latest edition listed there is 2005. If this map is truly based on the 2006 edition, the link wouldn't match up. Do you have a link to the 2006 edition? Or is "2006" incorrect? Thanks. Todd Prouty 17:58, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

Just a question

Hi. Why did you place the Senate above the lower house in the templates. In most countries the lower house has far more competences. (BTW: I won't revert it and I am glad you help maintaining the templates. Electionworld = Wilfried ( talk 08:32, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Your opinion

I created for all the commonwealth realms articles on the monarch of. See e.g. Monarch of Belize. I did this because every country has a Politics of series. In this series allways a head of state article is included. It helps to find your way quickly. It would be nice if these Monarchs of XX could be enlarged, but at the moment this is what I can offer. Now it is proposed to delete these articles at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Monarch of Jamaica. Because of the consistency of the Politics of series, I oppose the deletion of these articles. Could you give your opinion? Electionworld = Wilfried ( talk 09:38, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
