Please do not remove references from articles/text without a valid reason. That reference is (a) not promotional and (b) is needed per WP:VER and WP:BURDEN. (The text which discussed the existence of golf clubs, in the Cork area, was removed without explanation in a recent series of edits. In order to restore it, and per WP:BURDEN, a reference was required to confirm the existence of golf clubs in the city area (Mahon, Cork/Little Island, etc). That is what that reference is "for". And, as expected by WP:VER, it does "[add] value to paragraph". The value being a reference which supports the restored text. It is not promotional or "advertising for golf courses". It is independent of the subject(s) and contains no advertising or promotional text about those courses. And, frankly, the suggestion that it is promotional (in the face of the WP:COI WP:REFBOMBing involved in the preceding series of edits) rings more than a little hollow. Please stop repeatedly removing references and take any issues to Talk:Cork (city). There is already a thread. Guliolopez ( talk) 13:53, 18 April 2024 (UTC) reply
