A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Cyber Chess is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cyber Chess until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. SyG ( talk) 16:48, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
I'm not sure that I agree with your close of "no consensus" for Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Thrive (film). Some of the keep !votes are based on the Huffington Post which is not a reliable source for establishing notability. -- Whpq ( talk) 11:22, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
An editor has asked for a deletion review of Thrive (film). Because you closed the deletion discussion for this page, speedily deleted it, or otherwise were interested in the page, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Whpq ( talk) 14:58, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi Trev!! I've taken notice of your great skill of working with new and experienced users, and I'd love to see you apply to be a Host for Wikipedia:Teahouse. Please visit this link to learn more and hopefully you will apply! Thank you for your consideration, feel free to contact me with any questions! SarahStierch ( talk) 01:43, 24 January 2012 (UTC) |
Thanks for uploading File:Bristol international airport logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Cloudbound ( talk) 17:55, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi Trevj! A few updates for you about Wikipedia:Teahouse, since you're one of our awesome Teahouse hosts!:
Very exciting things are taking place, and we'll be opening the Teahouse no later than Monday. Feel free to ping me on or off wiki, and I can't wait to work with you to welcome new editors with a warm cup of tea :) SarahStierch ( talk) 03:40, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi Trev! Great news: The Teahouse is open for business! We're ready to start inviting new users, answering questions and inspiring one another. If you haven't already taken a look at the links provided in the most recent Teahouse update, posted on your talk page, please do! Don't forget to add yourself to the Host page if you haven't already. What's next? Inviting hosts and reporting your invitation information.
See you at the Teahouse! SarahStierch ( talk) 19:05, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Hey Trevj! Thank you for your quick and energetic responses to questions on the Teahouse. Since you are a master of quick and fast Wikipediaing, I'd love to have your help with inviting more new editors to participate, since we have more hosts than we do questions. I also hope that some of our other hosts will chime in, so perhaps if you, myself, and a few other folks can focus on invitations, it'll inspire some of the other hosts to participate and get some practice in. I know this first week is kind of crazy regarding how the Teahouse is going, but, hopefully things will pick up once we move beyond the soft launch. Thanks for kicking butt and takin' names!!! SarahStierch ( talk) 00:38, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi. When you recently edited Raspberry Pi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page App Store ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi. Please stop splitting articles into separate articles such as you did with the "DR-DOS" article into "Novell DOS" without prior talk page discussion and seeking consensus. Novell DOS 7 was the direct successor of DR DOS 6.0 and PalmDOS and the direct predecessor of Caldera OpenDOS 7.01 (before the product was renamed back to DR-DOS eventually). Unfortunately, the product saw many name changes, where updating the version number would have been enough. Splitting this into separate articles will create unnecessary redundancy and cause confusion. I cannot see a reason to move the Novell DOS section into a separate article unless you wanted to expand the Novell DOS section considerably so that it would be totally out of proportion in comparison with the other sections in the existing DR-DOS article afterwards. However, you should then start adding to the article first and discuss a potential split before doing it.
Also, your bold move of the long established "Novell NetWare" article to "NetWare" is hardly "non-controversial", in particular if you don't clean up the many dangling links yourself afterwards (as is required by policy). This should have been discussed first as well. -- Matthiaspaul ( talk) 18:22, 4 March 2012 (UTC)
For reference, consensus against my opinion gracefully accepted on 11 April 2012. -- Trevj ( talk) 14:47, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
You may have noticed over the past few days that the MOTD that you link to on your user page has simply displayed a red link. This is due to the fact that not enough people are reviewing pending MOTDs here. Please help us keep the MOTD template alive and simply go and review a few of the MOTDs in the list. That way we can have a real MOTD in the future rather than re-using ( This space for rent). Any help would be appreciated! – pjoef ( talk • contribs) 14:14, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is Inappropriate relisting?. Thank you. Ron Ritzman ( talk) 22:37, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading File:Aquae Sulis artist impression.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
{{
di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 12:29, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

![]() | On 6 April 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Isochrone map, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that isochrone maps (pictured) have been used since 1972 or earlier, and that since 2009 online versions have been used by house hunters wishing to evaluate residential areas? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Isochrone map.You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. The article Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists (from anthropologists to zoologists) who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list. Feel free to make a request for images or materials at the request page, and of course, if you share your successes at the outcomes page you will receive the SIA barnstar! Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to your participation! SarahStierch ( talk) 19:23, 20 April 2012 (UTC) |
