The Technologist Magazine

The Technologist is a new free monthly technology magazine disseminated in Palestine.

The Technologist’s mission is to bridge Palestinians and Arabs, particularly youth, with the world by introducing modern technology to them and educating them about means of utilizing technology to join the global village.

The prevailing political and security conditions contribute to the Palestinian people’s physical isolation and limit their interaction and experience with the outside world. The Technologist contributes to circumventing this isolation by presenting skills that will help them utilize information and computer technology as a tool and medium to connect with the world. It helps Palestinians integrate with the world by keeping them abreast of new technologies in all fields and explaining what such advances and breakthroughs may mean for them. Furthermore, The Technologist provides counseling and advice on the utilization of technology to improve reader’s education and employability skills, therefore facilitating their competitiveness in the global job market and access to it. All of these useful and attractive topics are presented in appealing and easy to comprehend language and style.

The Technologist’s target audience is primarily youth who will be eager to benefit from its topics every month. Secondary audience includes the rest of the Palestinian population of urban communities and other groups. Additionally, The Technologist has international audience as it will be distributed to international organizations, embassies and consulates, NGOs, bookshops, and restaurants and cafés. The Technologist is posted on the magazine’s website, allowing international audience interested in technology in the Palestinian territories, particularly in relation to youth and technology, to remain updated.

The Technologist appears at the beginning of every month. The hardcopy is printed in full color on 100 palm-size pages of high-quality paper. The nature of its topics, along with its high quality. Initially, its circulation will be 20,000 copies. The expected readership, however, will easily top 100,000 copies as each copy will be shared by family members, university colleagues, coworkers, etc.
