Hi. I'm a Permissions Assistant for Cambridge University Press searching for a higher res copy of the IWW anti-conscription poster you uploaded in May 2006 [1]. The image is intended for inclusion in a secondary school History textbook. I would really appreciate it if you had any ideas as to where I might find a high quality copy. Thanks! I've returned some obvious parts, but I don't really have time just now to come to a conclusion about the rest. I would think, however, that the "Debate and reaction" has a legitimate place in the article. Regards, -- cj | talk 12:32, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
Hi. This is a reminder to people on the Melbourne meetup participation list that the next meetup has been arranged for 19 June. Could you indicate on the meetup page your likely attendence, or otherwise. Regards. - Cuddy Wifter 23:23, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Howdy, Takver. Time to restore your essential documentation at Sydney Push. (Have done). Btw, I also inserted into Lillian Roxon the interesting ASIO furphy about this Packer-Murdoch writer's having been seen as a communist sympathiser. Can you say who the narrator of that (2001)piece [2] is, please? Incidentally, I removed some unlinked names from the Push list (and added some linked ones). They can be replaced when there are Wiki articles on them. Wendy Bacon is a glaring omission. I met her a few times but she was a fairly late arrival on the scene, and I left Sydney in 1975. (I seem to remember that she had a fling with Brian Raven, but maybe that's not right!) I don't remember Sasha Soldatow but her stuff looks spot-on. Incidentally, I have hard copies of all the references I myself have cited (and more besides). Cheers -- Bjenks 02:15, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bob_hunter_1941-2005_cofounder_of_greenpeace.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 10:22, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Westgatebridge.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the [[Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/2007 August 10#Image:Westgatebridge.jpg|discussion]] to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.
Hi Takver, I notice you've done some editing on aus iww page.....I've just substantially rewritten part of it, and will no doubt return. Maybe you will find time to look? Jeremytrewindixon 03:49, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Just a reminder that WikiProject Brisbane needs your help. There have been a number of changes to the project page over recent days and I hope you could spare some time to take a look, be bold and add some touches yourself.
There is plenty that needs to be done to get more Brisbane articles up to FA standard. Please come and discuss this and lets see if we can build up this project.

Hi, I think the photo you uploaded about the Slim Dusty Plaque in Tarcutta has been deleted for some reason. Are you aware of this and if you are i will delete it altogether because at the moment on the Tarcutta page it doesn't look quite good. Hopefully you can sort this out. Thanks Roadrunnerz45 ( talk) 12:46, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong place. To re-iterate my question on the photo of the mounted police in the Brunswick, Australia page. I left some comments on imagetalk regarding the photo of the mounted police outside the Sarah Sands. Where did you obtain that image? My family has copies of this, in an Argus article describing the event as the march of Orangemen, not the unemployed. Paddyrat ( talk) 11:32, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
I have deleted these three images as they are solely photographs of logos, you are unable to release them under a free license as they are copyright of the company/organisation. Gnan garra 15:24, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

I notice you !voted to keep on this IFD because you said the image had been released under a free license. Unfortunately, it has not — IBM's permission extends only to use on Wikipedia (and this has been verified by an OTRS user) — so the image must meet the non-free content criteria. As a result, the image is likely to be deleted unless a valid fair use claim is made out. You may wish to return to this discussion to clarify your !vote. Stifle ( talk) 12:55, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Arweet, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's
criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "
What Wikipedia is not" and
Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{
dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on
its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- Mufka (u) (t) (c) 21:48, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
My you have been busy! I've been enjoying reading your additions to wikipedia. I was thinking only the other day that someone should create some of the very articles you have been working on (Franklinford etc). I take it you are about to do an article on John Hepburn. I look forward to reading it when you do. I have been into reading a bit of early history around the central Victoria region as I was from Daylesford originally (now in Brisbane). I just finished Frontier Life in the Loddon Protectorate by Edgar Morrison. I would like to get a hold of his earlier work some time. Anyhow, keep up the great work.-- Sting Buzz Me... 01:15, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles ( talk) 20:30, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

I notice when browsing, and coming across your Victorian Aborigines article (which I like) that the map of Victoria on that page has some spelling that is different to that of AIATSIS's map on Aboriginal Australia, which is the work of the Encyclopaedia of Aboriginal Australia. I realise you indicate that the map is a creation of two works, the text you sight and partially the AIATSIS. However I was wondering if the spelling on the map wouldn't benefit from the more authoritative source. If so I have the correct spelling; but would firstly like your opinion. And finding your Username now, I also find this article is up for deletion. Do you know why, and how that can be averted? 08:32, 31 October 2011 (UTC) Victorbyron ( talk) 08:38, 31 October 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Victorbyron ( talk • contribs)
Hi there. Just inviting you to the Melbourne meetup this Sunday at 11am, to celebrate our 11th anniversary. Details on that page. Hope to see you there! SteveBot ( talk) 02:16, 11 January 2012 (UTC) (on behalf of Steven Zhang)
RE: page on Charles Doudiet Before adding a link to Doudiet's place of death, Hollowell, Massachusetts, I looked it up and could not find it listed. It's not the name of any city or town in that U.S. state. Neither are variations such as Hallowell, Halliwell, or Holliwell. Can you please confirm the location or point me to a source which uses this name? Thanks! Yoho2001 ( talk) 07:45, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Walter Lindrum.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the " my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG ( talk) 22:06, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

Hi, At last month's June meetup we discussed the idea of setting up a Training Course at a University of the Third Age ( U3A) to be held in 2013 and named Becoming a Wikipedia editor. In order to get this course up and running we are calling for volunteers to help develop the idea, and either tutor part of the course, or provide one on one help to students in the class. All local Wikipedians are welcome to discuss this at our 11am meetup to be held this Sunday on 22 July. Please add your name to the attending list at Wikipedia:Meetup/Melbourne 23. Food and beverages are provided. Cuddy Wifter ( talk) 02:59, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Polytechnic University ( check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thanks for uploading File:Nmit logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 ( talk) 22:04, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Australian Rail Tram Bus union banner.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. You are welcome to add comments to its entry at the discussion if you object to the listing for any reason. Thank you. Kelly hi! 21:42, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for uploading File:Bass Coast Rail Trail map.jpg.
This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.
While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.
Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 22:13, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for uploading File:LocMap French Island.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 22:16, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

The article Bicycle Federation of Australia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
A 2005 article with no references at all, sourced from the "External links", fails notability and verifiability policies and guidelines. Appears to be just indiscriminate content.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Thank you for uploading File:Melbourne Polytechnic logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.
ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot ( talk) 01:03, 16 July 2018 (UTC)
