The answer to your question is because they have their own set of rules, and Wikipedia has our own set of rules, albeit much stricter. As the Wikia is a user-generated, user-edited site, it cannot be used as a source on Wikipedia, just as Wikipedia cannot be used as a reliable source for itself or outside of Wikipedia. Tweets are not reliable sources either. The "original" series might be over, but it still continues on in different incarnation, such as the film and sequel series. There has already been a discussion about this with other editors, and the consensus was to list it so. Forcing your edits is a violation o Wikipedia policy.
