On 7 February 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Giovanni Prodi, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Italian mathematician Giovanni Prodi was initially drafted into the National Republican Army and trained as a telephonist during World War II? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Giovanni Prodi. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, Giovanni Prodi), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello SD0001,
The first NPP source guide discussion is now underway. It covers a wide range of sources in Ghana with the goal of providing more guidance to reviewers about sources they might see when reviewing pages. Hopefully, new page reviewers will join others interested in reliable sources and those with expertise in these sources to make the discussion a success.
New to NPP? Looking to try something a little different? Consider patrolling some redirects. Redirects are relatively easy to review, can be found easily through the New Pages Feed. You can find more information about how to patrol redirects at WP:RPATROL.
Geographic regions, areas and places generally do not need general notability guideline type sourcing. When evaluating whether an article meets this notability guideline please also consider whether it might actually be a form of WP:SPAM for a development project (e.g. PR for a large luxury residential development) and not actually covered by the guideline.

Is the refund helper supposed to make a token edit to an undeleted G13 draft which didn't have a speedy deletion tag on it?
If yes, it's not always working: Draft:PitBull Trusted Computing Platform was refunded using the helper at 16:19 on 10 February 2020. However, there was no token edit to keep it alive ( history). I noticed as it was nominated for deletion again at 19:25 on 10 February 2020 and I was patrolling CSD noms :). Even if the nominator had checked the history [which we'll assume they did] they wouldn't have known about the refund unless they also checked the page logs [which presumably they didn't].
If no, it doesn't make a token edit, I wonder if it should. Besides editors not checking deletion logs (understandly imho; admins, less so), there is the question of whether the bot which writes this list takes account of recent undeletions. I rather suspect it does not. Therefore, a token edit ought to prevent the draft from re-appearing on the Stale Drafts list for another 6 months and also discourage invalid G13 noms. Without a token edit, I presume the draft would re-appear on the list again the next day and an admin who isn't paying close attention might delete it. (This still happens on occasion). -- kingboyk ( talk) 13:01, 14 February 2020 (UTC)

I want to express my appreciation, and, I am sure, the appreciation of other active AfC reviewers for your magnificent work on developing User:SD0001/AfC sorting and its follow up version. It has proved helpful beyond any expectation in clearing up the backlog, and focussing attention of problem areas. I have been able to do at least twice the work formerly did in this area because of the increased selectivity; looking at the drafts from the March 10 version today, I see this is true of others experience as well. I was speaking with others involved with the undeclared paid editing problem today, and there was general agreement that the key factor would be the maintenance of high standards in submitted articles, which makes it impossible for at least the less competent such editors to remain in business; it gives hope that as we increase the standards, we will find fewer and fewer of them able to meet the requirements. The work at AfC is critical to this--there is nothing that works as well as a prompt rejection of a bad article. Many people have helped develop AfC, but you are not only the most recent, but possibly the one who will prove to have had the greatest effectiveness in keeping WP free from attempts to use it for advertising. Hello SD. That page had shown up in the Category:Wikipedia pages with incorrect protection templates . The log I looked at is empty thus my edit which did remove the page from that category. Your edit has not put the page back in the cat (as I type this anyway) so I'm not sure what is going on. It might have something to do with some other page that is transcluded to that one. In all my years of working with that cat I haven't had this happen before. In any event thanks for your fix. Best regards and stay safe. MarnetteD| Talk 15:03, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
{{
mbox/testcases}}
. Most of the content of that is OK too, apart from two lines: {{Test case|_collapsible=yes|_showcode=yes|_title={{para|smalltext}} & {{para|small|left}}|demospace=main|text=some text|smalltext=some small text|small=left}}
{{Test case|_collapsible=yes|_showcode=yes|_title={{para|smalltext}} & {{para|small|no}}|demospace=main|text=some text|smalltext=some small text|small=no}}
If no templates are specified explicitly, the module uses the base page of the current page as the first template, and its /sandbox subpage as the second template.Therefore, when used at Module talk:Message box/testcases, it's transcluding Module talk:Message box and Module talk:Message box/sandbox (the latter is a redirect to the former, so it's transcluding the same page twice, but that doesn't matter). In Module talk:Message box, there is, as MarnetteD noticed, a
{{
permprot}}
, which on that page is testing the prot level of
Module:Message box; but when transcluded to
Module talk:Message box/testcases is testing the prot level of
Module:Message box/testcases, which being a redlink, counts as unprotected. So an error is reported because as far as {{
permprot}}
is concerned, it's being used for an unprotected page. I don't know if {{
Test case}}
respects <noinclude>...</noinclude>
- if it does, simply pop those around that {{
permprot}}

Hello,
I have a suggestion for RFUD-helper. When the text of the revision is undefined it might be worth not displaying the "Last deleted version" or showing some kind of error message. For example when the last deleted edit has been oversighted the text shows undefined as I am not an oversighter.
I had assumed that the new feature was a built in to mediawiki and so filled a bug report on phabricator. I think that deserves a Self-trout... Very useful feature and thanks for adding it (I've used it countless times since it was added).

Hi SD0001, you are receiving this notice because you are listed as an active Articles for Creation reviewer.
Recently a list of reviewers by area of expertise was created. This notice is being sent out to alert you to the existence of that list, and to encourage you to add your name to it. If you or other reviewers come across articles in the queue where an acceptance/decline hinges on specialist knowledge, this list should serve to facilitate contact with a fellow reviewer.
To end on a positive note, the backlog has dropped below 1,500, so thanks for all of the hard work some of you have been putting into the AfC process!

Hello SD, loving the sort lists of course. I wanted to ask you, do you think it might be a good idea to split some sublists deeper? In particular I would be very interested in splitting the STEM lists into the normal encyclopedic subjects and then the rest being "Biographies/Films/Books/Companies" because the latter are often a large but uninteresting part of the submissions. I can probably make a pull request for this if you agree this might be worth adding. – Thjarkur (talk) 22:42, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello SD0001,
NPP Sorting can be a great way to find pages needing new page patrolling that match your strengths and interests. Using ORES, it divides articles into topics such as Literature or Chemistry and on Geography. Take a look and see if you can find time to patrol a couple pages a day. With over 10,000 pages in the queue, the highest it's been since ACPERM, your help could really make a difference.
In late February, Google added 5 new languages to Google Translate: Kinyarwanda, Odia (Oriya), Tatar, Turkmen and Uyghur. This expands our ability to find and evaluate sources in those languages.

I've looked around a bit trying to find where SMEs / editors can feed back incorrect topic mapping for new articles and have not found such a resource yet. I do very much appreciate the effort represented by User:SDZeroBot/NPP sorting; definitely going in the right direction. The first thing I looked at was the STEM/Biology bin, and the first item in the table is Marin Jurić Čivro (Croatian singer). This article should have probably been mapped to the Culture/Media/Music bin. Would be useful to have a structured way to feed back to SDZeroBot in some fashion. Thanks for letting me know if, in fact, there is already a way that I've not come across yet. --User:Ceyockey ( talk to me) 01:29, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
Hi SD0001! I fixed
User:SDZeroBot/NPP sorting/Culture/Biography by
removing the spurious half infoboxes from the ends of the summaries. Another option would be to wrap an unmatched "{{" in <nowiki>...</nowiki>
, otherwise you might not be able to see part of the table since the backend software will match that with a "}}" from another entry. Thanks!

I don't think there was any damage done but wanted to apologize for any disruption. Liz Read! Talk! 21:40, 28 September 2020 (UTC)
Hello, Is it possible to have a script created that will help over at RM just like XFD closure, it should be able to relist, close, fix links , log the RM at the articles talk page and move the page if necessary. This would really help since we do things over there manually Megan☺️ Talk to the monster 15:54, 29 September 2020 (UTC)
I used RFUD-helper to accept a REFUND request for Draft:Cottontail (film). It undeleted the right page, and the edit summary was right, but it put the response in the wrong section: Special:Diff/981401957. Any idea what happened here? Jackmcbarn ( talk) 02:47, 2 October 2020 (UTC)
A lot of the categorization cycles have been fixed and removed from the corresponding lists. However, some of the cycles weren't removed from the lists after they were fixed. It is also possible that some cycles were removed from the lists by mistake. SD0001, could you please regenerate subpages of User:SDZeroBot/Category cycles? — andrybak ( talk) 04:27, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
Is there a reason you can't use the actual sandbox or your userspace? Adam9007 ( talk) 15:47, 5 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi, remember this conversation we had about the code editor? Well, I figured it out! Turns out, you have to pass the editor's DOM element to ace.edit() in order to configure it. I've written this script that saves code editor settings to your global preferences and applies them every time you open the code editor. Check it out if you're interested. Hi SD0001, I was wondering if you were still interested in helping out peer review with your bot? In particular taking over the work of PeerReviewBot in auto closing reviews, and KadaneBot in sending peer reviews to volunteers. That alone would be very helpful! -- Tom (LT) ( talk) 05:46, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi, SD0001,
Would it be possible for you to, once again, include the time of the last edit to each draft on this page like you have on User:SDZeroBot/G13 Watch? That would make it more useful for me. It looks like the last edit date was a part of the chart up to October 1st and then it was dropped. Without the date, I have to open each draft page history to find out when the last edit was and with hundreds of drafts, that is quite a chore. Maybe you could decrease the size of the draft excerpt if space is at a premium.
It would be interesting to know if I'm the only one making regular use of this page or whether it's being checked by editors working in AFC as well, to help you know which features are most helpful. Thanks again. Liz Read! Talk! 00:26, 8 October 2020 (UTC)
include the time of the last edit to each draft on this pageshould be done, now. Thanks for your patience! Was busy with some more stressful wiki activities and RL. Regarding the update frequencies, I have had to change them quite a few times due to upstream issues. You can find the up-to-date info at User:SDZeroBot#Reports which also shows the dates of last update that automatically become red if an update was missed. – SD0001 ( talk) 18:12, 15 October 2020 (UTC)
Apologies for the extra bureaucracy at your ongoing BRFA; as Primefac demonstrated, I most likely should've just approved for a trial. I should've noticed that your intention was to take entire categories of categories at once, and tag each member category as a setcat without manually inspecting it. Looks like the BRFA is otherwise going well, so at least I didn't hold it up too much. Enterprisey ( talk!) 07:34, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
Hello, SD0001,
I just wanted to thank you for adding the Last Edit column to this report. The page has turned out to be an invaluable tool, both for those working in AfC and for those, like me, who clear out old drafts which are less than promising. Thanks! Liz Read! Talk! 23:16, 26 October 2020 (UTC)
Hello, SD0001,
Typically, SDZeroBot issues this report at 00:00 UTC each night but today, it just skipped it. No report. This has also happened occasionally with User:SDZeroBot/G13 soon. It typically is also issued around 00:00 UTC but sometimes, there is just no report for the day even though reports are issued even when there are no drafts listed.
I'm not sure if you are on Wikipedia much now but if you are, could you manually run the SDZeroBot G13 eligible report? Because we were missing a G13 soon list for the day, it should be pretty long list. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 00:21, 29 October 2020 (UTC)

On 2 November 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Shankar's Weekly, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Indian prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru launched Shankar's Weekly, even though its founder described the magazine as "fundamentally anti-establishment"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Shankar's Weekly. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page ( here's how, Shankar's Weekly), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi SD0001, would there be a way to do a bot report of pending articles that have titles identical to titles on other Wikipedias, with links to those foreign-language Wikipedia pages? If an article exists on another Wikipedia, it's a good indication that the draft should be approved. Thanks, Calliopejen1 ( talk) 18:19, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
Hello, SD0001,
User:SDZeroBot/G13 soon is usually issued at 00:02 UTC but for some reason, about once every 7-10 days, it doesn't get issued. It isn't issued later in the night, the bot just skips that report. That happened today. Could you run your bot and issue a report for Nov. 7, 2020 for drafts that expire Nov. 13th? That would be very helpful. Thank you so much. Liz Read!
