I've had my eye off the ball and have just seen an old message from you concerning sound field recording. I have an extensive library of wildlife sounds and have developed unconventional techniques which I share on a chat list with other Field Recordists. I can give detailed theory why low mic placements sometimes give better results, but my final arbiter is my own ears which are highly trained and still good at an advancing age from an extended bass of 5 Hz to 13 KHz. My standard mic rig is two MKH 416 mics in blimps at about 20 degrees into a pro quality SQN mixer (well into 3 £zeroes). Theoretically this shouldn't give a good centre image because of the wild side lobes of any director mic, but it works in practice - and the comb effect from ground echoes is much less when close to a soft ground surface. keoka 02:21, 10 May 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Keoka ( talk • contribs)

No, I'm sorry I didn't. There's a substantial backlog at CAT:CSD. I got to the article, as it was linking to CSD through the hang-on tags. I checked the history and noted there was no accompanying (prior) request for deletion. This makes the hang-on tag invalid as no editor has requested deletion. I therefore removed the tags in order to remove it from the queue at CSD. I'm afraid this wasn't about article clean up but managing the job load at another part of Wikipedia. Again, sorry, but I hope that explains my actions. Pedro : Chat 10:02, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for uploading Image:Soundcraft colour.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.
Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI ( talk) 20:59, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
I like what you've been doing in adding a lot of great pro audio material to Wikipedia. That said, I wonder what was the intention in splitting Bill Putnam's old UA/UREI from the new company formed by Putnam's sons? Certainly, the new company is different than the old in terms of industry position as a boutique operation rather than as a major player. It's also true there was a large time gap between the two entities where neither was in business. However, the new guys are claiming to be descended from the old company and they are manufacturing (among other things) reproductions of the most famous historic products. That last reason is why I presented both entities on the same page. Binksternet ( talk) 00:03, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
I looked at creating a disambiguation page but could not find good examples of the wiki syntax to use. Yes it is the right thing to do. A top level Universal Audio page would be nice, but keep it short and sweet. A paragraph for each phase with links to that phase.

When I saw Music Center Incorporated on my watch list I did not recognize the name. Most people know the company as simply MCI. I think it would make sense to change the page name from [Music Center Incorporated] to [MCI (audio)] or [MCI (audio manufacturer)]. It is sort of like calling water di-hydrogen oxide rather than h2o. Both are correct, one is much more recognizable

I looked at your changes and understand almost all of them. The one I am not sure of is: Bandwidth (signal processing). It seems to be a comprehensive well written article with references. It does seem to be missing some sections like an audio bandwith section. It also only has two references. Are either of these why you downgraded it from C to Start? Same comments about Wave field synthesis. Robert.Harker( talk) 19:53, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
I don't believe your encyclopedia.com citation is a valid or useful one. Contemporary sources (e.g., Broadcasting and Broadcast Advertising magazine) clearly indicate that it was known as the "NAB" well before World War II. 121a0012 ( talk) 17:55, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
