Melis Bilen

Why did you undo all my changes at Melis Bilen without any explanation?  -- Lambiam 20:19, 18 December 2011 (UTC) reply

It may not have been your intention, but you undid many of my improvements. For example, I reformatted most references to be closer to the usual format for Wikipedia and added wikilinks for sources that are established media, such as Hürriyet. I also put Turkish words in the Turkish alphabet, such as At Şu Adımı. All of that was undone.

It doesn't matter much, because it looks like the article will be deleted any way. I hope you realize that you cannot save it by puffing it up with excessive trivial details. It is now almost as long as our article for Leyla Gencer (and even longer if you break of the content of Leyla Gencer's article before her death), which is completely disproportional to their respective importance. Overloading the references with trivial ones is also not going to help. It is not contested that Melis Bilen wrote Ağlama Van; surely that does not need nine(!) references. Only multiple non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources can establish the notability required to keep the article.  -- Lambiam 11:35, 19 December 2011 (UTC) reply

Thank you very much

Dear Lambiam, As you said it was not my intention to undo the things you’d changed. On the contrary I was pleased regarding your corrections and helps. Yesterday after this discussion, I thought it would be better if I enrich the text with more details and more sources. As a matter of fact I am quite new as a Wikipedia writer and I am still in the learning phase. I added those extra sources because for instance the song Ağlama Van was made news for various newspapers, not just one or two. Since only newsworthy people and events are cared by national media organs, I thought it would be a sign of significance and would help enriching the text. I don’t know how I mistakenly undo those changes you did, but I am really sorry about that. I am in the preparation of new pages nowadays, which are in the pipe and I will be more careful about the spelling and bibliography. I am learning everyday. I want to thank you so much for your taking your time helping and supporting my page. Kind Regards, Republic2011 ( talk) 15:47, 19 December 2011 (UTC) reply
