Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Herb. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a " soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Insect. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Materialscientist ( talk) 13:43, 14 December 2011 (UTC) reply

About adding a link

Hi, sorry that I reverted your edit with the "identified as vandalism" tag, that was an accident! The links that you have added to the Herb and Insect pages do not belong for multiple reasons (1) three other editors agree with me that these are not appropriate, (2) you are "too close" to the material in question, as the person who posted the page on Ek Titli, you are not sufficiently unbiased to be promoting this material in wikipedia, (3) compared to the material that is already in wikipedia, these articles do not add significantly.

However, welcome to Wikipedia, I hope that you'll stay and contribute in other ways! (I've been doing this for several years, but I still made the mistake of clicking the wrong icon to revert your edit. It is a collaborative effort where we all check one another's contributions.) Best wishes, Nadiatalent ( talk) 14:18, 14 December 2011 (UTC) reply

So what don't you understand?

I'm happy to clarify the relevant policies and guidelines. A great deal has been written here already. What further explanation can I offer? -- Ronz ( talk) 16:19, 15 December 2011 (UTC) reply

"if that is what you did"

But it's not what I did. -- Ronz ( talk) 06:21, 16 December 2011 (UTC) reply
