I have removed the fac tag from the article, as you did not complete the nominating process. In any event, this article is not ready to be a FAC and will be shot down in flames if nominated, which we both don't want to see happen. I noticed you did a reverse edit of Pete on a Pongo Stick edits to the article of Wales, but what I saw mostly between his edit and your reversion was a huge deletion of information that seemed relevant. Mind you there was a lot that I skimmed through but I did not see any vandalism within and I now see this user has been indefinitely blocked. Ah... Well, I'm afraid adding the template to their userpage does not block a user. Only an administrator can do that using a restricted special page, and only an administrator is allowed to add that message to the user's talk page. If you think a user should be blocked for vandalism, you can list them at WP:AIV, but make sure your report follows the instructions there. Hope this clears things up. Hey, so you posted a message on my talk page about vandalism of an article (and potential of being blocked), but didn't link to the article in question. I reviewed all of my edits to look for the edit in question (because I was pretty confused about this message!), and came across an anomaly on the Ethics article.

Reviewing the edit history of the Ethics article, however, lists *two* edits credited to my username (when scrolling through diff history), one of which does in fact appear to be vandalism ... I'm completely baffled because this is not an edit that I made! When I came across the article I logged in to *remove* this vandalism (which existed *one full day previously* and was posted by an anonymous user on Feb. 9 from IP 68.238.182.241), but I did *not* actually update the page with a change because someone had taken care of it by the time I previewed the removal of the vandalism. I closed the page and made no changes, and it is somehow now attributed to my user account?

I'm new at this and am pretty confused ... help? How did this get attributed to my user account when the vandalism was there *before* I went in to change it? And why does my contribution history only list *one* edit of the article, while the article history also shows *one* edit, but when scrolling through the diff history it shows *two* edits? I'm wondering if there was some sort of logging error ... any ideas? And if not, who could I talk to about looking into this?

Hi! I see you have been tagging alot of pages with a semiprotection-tag, probably thinking that it makes a page semiprotected. But that's not how it works. You're not the first to make that mistake, but only administrators can actually protect pages. They do it by clicking a special button they have in their menue. The tag doesn't make any difference. Everything you keep reverting back the breakcore article is outdated and full of spam. Over half of those artists are not recognized and simply are people looking to gain pubclity through Wikipedia and another quarter of those are not breakcore artists at all. Please leave my revisions alone. What makes you the sole authority on "breakcore" when you keep allowing random people from myspace put their names on the breakcore artist list as if they deserve it? Let me clean up the article or discuss with me, if you keep reporting me for vanadlism I will report you for using a bot and for not following Wikipedias procedures on article editing. First of all it was not reverted, second it was a linkfix since an article had been renamed (The original article "Bavaria Brewery" was renamed "Bavaria Brewery (Netherlands)". I noticed that you did some work on the William G. Thrash article. Thanks for your efforts. I offer you the following thoughts: (I noticed that you requested an editor review, so I thought you might want some suggestions).
This is the biography of a military officer. There are some basic "standards" that have been developed for military biographies. For example, in the infobox, even if you don't have all of the information, if you put in the entire standard template, it is easier for other editors to fill in the info. The "battles" and "awards" fields are usually included in all articles. For awards, this is for notable awards. Practice is usually to put them in order of precedence, down to the Purple Heart. For sections, often, instead of by decades, Wars make a more reasonable subsection, such as World War II, Korean War, etc. As for medals, the "gold star" (for U.S. Military) is not a medal in itself, but rather given in lieu of a subsequent award of the same medal.
You also added a lot of wikilinks, such as dates. Take a look at the WP:Manual of Style — not all dates need to be linked. And, usually, only the first instance of a word/phrase is linked.

I've been monitoring the Anna Nicole Page since she died (for vandals and such) and I noticed that someone had changed the infobox colour to silver with the comment that infoboxes of deceased people should be silver. I assumed it was practice...thus changed back the colour. But you know, afterwards I looked everywhere myself about the policy about colours used on infoboxes...and couldn't find a thing...If there is a MoS, I haven't found it. As a general principle, I agree there needs to be an examination of orphaned pages. I think Wikipedia is cluttered with articles that tell the reader nothing that they wouldn't already have known if they searched for the article in the first place. politician stubs are the worst example - what's the point of looking up John Smith MP just to discover that he is an MP whose name is John Smith? Could you please try finding sources before nominating articles for deletion? I've already come across several Adams who turn out to be notable after a simple Google search. There's a difference between unverified and unverifiable. The second is a reason for deletion, the first isn't.

Why don't we delete the Béatrice Schönberg article. Are the French better? There is a larger audience in the English speaking world for this Spanish language program because of all the Mexicans and Mexican-Americans who live in the Anglo world of America, than there is for Béatrice Schönberg's French TV news. What is the reason why one is good and the other not notable? I don't understand. Please explain in her talk page so other editors can assess your proposal. As I am still eagerly chipping away at the colossal amount of articles that need assessment for WPBIOs - is there a project already out there for this? Or is it possible to start a project specifically for assessing this huge backlog of articles (138,000+ that have been tagged for the WPBiography project). On my own I calculate that does 200 assessments a day it will take me 3.5 years. Not exactly fun. With 20 people doing 200 edits a day it would take 34 days - ideally it would be 100 people working on this project, taking a little under 7 days. I've noticed a number of articles that you have nominated for deletion or prodded. I just wanted to drop a note and say, keep up the good work! I've been doing something similar (though on a smaller scale, usually 10-12 a day) with actor stubs. Mostly I've been "prodding" them and in a few cases it has led to the improvement of articles. When the prod tag is removed but nothing changes, I'll simply put it up at AFD. As an actor, I hate nominating fellow actors for deletion, but when someone has only had a few minor roles on film or TV, it irks me that someone considers them notable, especially when so little can be written about their life from verifiable sources. Hello Ozgod, I see you're going through bios and tagging articles pretty rapidly. I'm not sure I agree with some of the tags, though, particularly the "wikify" ones. You seem to intend these to be more toward creating section layouts than adding internal links, as most are amply wikilinked, but I feel the articles are so short that there is no need or possibility of rearranging them into a new section layout. In particular, Adriaan Blaauw and Adragon De Mello look okay as they are, until they are expanded. It just may be my personal tastes; what are your thoughts on this? Thanks for the invite to do article assessments. I might help out with this some, however, the problem I have with any kind of article grading is that the whole grading system is a bit of a mystery to me. When does an article stop being a Stub and become a Start class article? (Its more than just length, I think.) How does a "GA" (good article) class article differ from a B- or A-class article. I'm pretty unclear on that right now. Also, I do list myself as member of WikiBiography Project, but what I contribute is really an extension of the other Wikiprojects I'm part of – hence, my focus is on biographies of biologists (especially, mycologists), notable San Francisco Bay Area figures, and contemporary artists and musicians. You seem to be targeting some Three Kingdoms officer articles for deletion because they have a fiction tag on them. I guess I have some explaining to do....the fiction tags there do not mean, for most of the time, that the subject is a work of fiction. Instead, the article "may fail to make a clear distinction between fact and fiction", which, in this case, means it has elements of fiction masquerading as fact. This is especially prominent for officers of the Three Kingdoms, since a later historical novel, Romance of the Three Kingdoms muddled the fact and fiction of the era. People doing WikiBiography Project assessments might note that there's a suggestion in the box for assessors to create a comment about what they might suggest for future editors to improve the biography being assessed. I usually do write such a comment -- if there's not already a comment box, writing one leads to the creation of a comment page.
Another editor, well-meaning, thought that I'd made a mistake in putting my comment on a separate page. He moved my comment to the article's main talk page & marked the comment page for speedy deletion, then informed me of his action. I explained the procedure, so now he knows -- but I've also started prefacing my comments on the (usually new) comment page with
so that other editors running across them won't make the same well-intentioned mistake.
I'm suggesting this as a practice other WPBiography assessors might want to use.

You changed the top honor to 3,000+ to be awarded a Wikipedia:Barnstars. [1]. After Carom reached 200+, you indicated that you awarded him a barnstar [2] and then deleted his name and his running total from the nominations/running total list. It's important to keep Carom's name under the nominations list so that Carom's can update their running total. Just make a note next to his name under the nominations list that he received a barnstar. The way the assessment drive page appears now, it does not seem that drive has awarded any awards. Also, 1,000+ biography assessments have been used in the past to award bardstars and it seems that increasing the requirement to 3,000 will reduce a motivation to participate in the drive, not increase it. -- Jreferee 18:06, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

For one, that is the only page that brings up the "You have new messages (last change)" notification. If you place an award on a user page or a user subpage, they may not find it. Also, if awards are placed on the user talk page, there is one history showing the original source for the award. The user then may copy the award elsewhere in their user space. If you place an award on a user page and that user copies it to an awards sub page, other editors may look to that user's talk page, not see the original awarding of that award, and wonder whether that person gave themselves that award. In general, it is considered polite to avoid substantially editing another's user pages and/or user subspace without their permission. I apologize I have not done more stub parameterizing for you. I have been pretty busy with WP:CHICOTW and WP:WPChi. In fact, at WP:WPChi I have finally created Category:Chicago articles by importance Category:Chicago articles by quality. I wanted to get your further advice on articles by importance. I can see that WP:BIO has approximately the same percentage of Top importance articles as there are FAs to total articles on wikipedia. This is a probably a good relationship. I am going to pursue this relationship at WP:WPChi. I.E., my current instruction is to start with 5 top and have no more until we have 6000 {{ ChicagoWikiProject}} tags. Then we will continue to have less than 1 top per 1000 articles. However, I am not quite sure what percentage of articles should be Low, Mid and High. Can you give me numbers for your project? Hi, I am getting the WP:WPChi assessment division started using techniques learned while briefly contributing to your Feb bio unassessed article tagging drive. In the last 3 weeks we have gone from 400 articles to 7500 articles. I see your user contributions seem to be a bit limited over the last month so I will contact a few others within the project to make sure this message is recieved. Yesterday, I was helping a user solve talk page clutter problems at Ella Cara Deloria after a bot kept tagging a talk page and the user kept trying to remove our tag. It came to my attention that WP Bio seems to be using a possibly outdated format for some of its parameters. In particular, I believe the photo and living persons (and possibly the autostubbing) banners are formatted to produce more clutter than necessary. E.g., on the aforementioned page in order to work out a clutter solution I removed the "needs-photo = yes" parameter and put it in the {{ ChicagoWikiProject}} banner. Later, I realized that this is probably not the best solution because if projects do this every time a talk page is cluttered with your parameterized banner you will begin to lose your hard work and the information from the categorization facilitated by such parameters. My suggestion is to change your parameters to appear as lines within the banner instead of as additional banners.
Also, I was curious why WP Bio does not use the analogue to our Category:Disambig-Class Chicago articles, which would be Category:Disambig-Class biography articles. It would seem this would be a useful category and could be easily populated with a bot looking for WP Bio tagged articles that have {{ hndis}} or {{ disamb}}. I accept that there is an entry in wikipedia Italy - she is an Italian politician - and that there are a good number of Google hits. Is it possible to expand the article to affirm notability? I don't have any problem over the biog project tags. That's quite appropriate and well done for speedy action. However, a stub tag by definition is stating that the article needs expanding. In that case the expand tag is redundant and should not be used - it's saying the same thing twice. You have also put the unreferenced tag on Nathan Coley saying, "This article or section does not cite any references or sources", when it does contain references, so that is not correct. I really am left with the impression that neither you, or the other participants read the article with sufficient care to form a fair assessment of its worth. And, very unfortunately, I have found it is typical of the {{ afd}} fora that participants rarely return, after leaving their comments, to see if a counter-argument had been offered for the concerns they raised, or whether someone used the discussion period to make an improvement.
Responses like user:nick mallory's are very, very common -- participants who regard civil questions as personal attacks, and respond in kind.

Ozgod, I need more help. I am trying to see where you can create a new article, but I can't find out how to anywhere. I found out about Judy Garland when my friend and I saw the Wizard of OZ about two years ago. It was my first time seeing the movie. When I got home later that day I decided to do some research on her in Google. By 2 days later I was already buying books on her in Barnes & Noble. In about in a week I already knew almost anything about her. The research on her also led me to Mickey Rooney, who I also know a lot about. I have told everybody in my school about Mickey and Judy. By now everybody already knows about Mickey but not exactly Judy. They all know Mickey Rooney as the funny security gaurd in Night at the Museam. When we watched Night at the Museam at school everybody was yelling "Hey, Mickey Rooney is in this movie".Well there's a lot more to the story, but it is really long.I've been on the lookout for biography arcticles with Trivia sections so I can delete them. I know that you are very involved in Wikiporject Biography. That is why I need your help. I also contacted Psychless as well with the same concern.
Wikipedia's coverage of the Salem Witch Trials is absolutely terrible. Most of the people involved don't even have biographies written about them. Plus, the biographies that do exist are horrible. They are ridden with vandalism, nonfactual information, spelling and grammar errors, and they do not have a Neutral Point of View. Most of them probably have to be re-written! Also, most of the existing biographies are stubs anyway.
That is why another Wikipedian, Cocoaguy, and I created Salem Witch Trials Task Force.
Unfortunately, we only have two other members. And four people alone can not do all of this work! Is it possible that we can team up with you and Wikiproject Biography, so we can get more members for our task force and hopefully improve Wikipedia's coverage of the Salem Witch Trials?

As far as I can tell, no real town has ever been deleted in AfD and I'd be surprised if this were the first. The original version, before another Pinedale Shores was found at USGS, was at Pinedale Shores, Alabama and nominated in its attack-page ramble form for deletion. As you can see from the comments at the Afd, even in that form it had its keepers, I don't think its in too much jeopardy now and neither should it be speedied. (I'm particularly puzzled by the use here of "look", which seems idiomatic but incongruously informal within that pompous sentence.) I suggest that you revisit my latest version, making judicious revisions to it. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see you improving it in places, but your flat rejection of all of it seems, well, "adverse and counterproductive" (a notion that's surely expressible in a single, well-chosen word). I'm not exactly sure why the template is malfunctioning - perhaps User:Quadell, who listed the images for deletion, didn't follow the rest of the steps exactly. I'd suggest reading over the Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria policy and the Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline, and then making a longer fair use rationale for each image that closer fits the guideline and policy. - Malkinann 12:36, 19 July 2007 (UTC) I am a fairly new member to this project. Regarding your edit summary of Changed back to References. It generates a list in which you use sources to reference within the article - like the one used in paragraph one, I would like to point out that this article was already using reflist before you edited it so you don't need to explain how that works. Regarding the section heading itself, Wikipedia:Citing sources#Section headings says that Notes, Footnotes, and References are all acceptable choices for a footnote section title so there is no "correct" choice to be made between these options. This is a relatively trivial matter, but I feel it necessary to point out that "Notes" is just as acceptable of a heading as "References." Most articles in WP:WPND have been using "Notes" for quite a while now so that is why that section heading appears in the John Warford article. Actually, when you take a look at this, "Notes" seems like the most logical section for a footnote section heading. We are one week in to the drive, and it's already going fantastic. Numerous days of backlogs have been tackled, with hundreds of articles having been reviewed. We do, however, have some news! First off, a HUGE congratulations to everyone participating so far. I understand some members are inactive due to vacation, but we are still making great progress. Secondly, make sure that before you go off and review old submissions, that you review all submissions for the present day, and the day before, so that we aren't actually making a bigger backlog, by letting submissions get archived while we're checking stuff from 2006. Third, remember to update your running total, on the drive page. Honesty is the best policy, so if you lie about the number of articles you've reviewed, we'll all make angry faces while looking at your userpage. And, last, if you have any questions about the drive, feel free to ask me, or any other members of the project. Great job, everyone! We're going to get that backlog! WikiProject Articles for creation Backlog Elimination Drive News!
We are nine days away from the end of the drive, and it's been fantastic! Many, many, many days of backlog have been tackled, and over 1500 articles reviewed! To start off, a HUGE THANKS to everyone who helped out with the coordination of the drive, and actually fighting the backlog in the drive itself. Everyone's done a great job helping out, no matter how many articles you've reviewed/ Remember to update your running total, on the drive page. This is the ONLY way that I will be able to give out awards appropriately. Lastly, I will be giving out awards on August 16th. Anyone who could help me, that would be fantastic.
