Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered
bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the
welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Yoshi24517 (

Hello, I'm
Wracking. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article,
John Ashcroft, but you didn't provide a
reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to
include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at
referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on
my talk page. Thank you.

Your recent article submission to
Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Qcne was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject
qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published,
reliable,
secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the
guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see
technical help and learn about
mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
I don't think this person quite meets
WP:NACADEMIC
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to
Draft:Michelle Borkin and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and
may be deleted.
Thank you for reviewing this submission. However, I disagree with the judgement that this article does not meet notability criteria: As listed in WP:NACADEMIC, an academic meets the notability criteria for any one of several conditions, one of which is a prestigious award. If you will refer to the Awards and Honors section of the proposed draft, you will find several which meet the criteria. The strongest of these is the IEEE VGTC Visualization Significant New Researcher Award. This community is the host of the premiere visualization research conference IEEE VIS, and is highly regarded by data visualization researchers worldwide. The notability criteria explicitly mention IEEE ("The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level."). Several other fellowships arguably also meet this criteria, such as the NSF (National Science Foundation) GRFP (Graduate Research Fellowship Program). Even without considering that this person meets several other criteria for notable academics such as research impact, this recognition alone should be sufficient to qualify this biography for inclusion.
