Thanks for your interest and info..(I had just discovered the Dictionary of American Naval Fighting Ships. If I had read my messages first, I could have saved some time. :-) ). In any case, I am not at all up on US ships. The original article was inadequate and I thought I would make it into a stub and...you know how it goes. Are there ship stubs? I have started an article pertaining to the above and may do stubs on "the other" Mayflowers. Thanks for your interest. ( Stormbay 19:53, 3 December 2005 (UTC))

Thanks for changing the nosource label, could you point me to the page where use of the nosource template is explained, I tried searching on nosource and WP:nosource but couldn't find it, I know it is going to be obvious! Bob Palin 23:39, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

I've rolled back your changes to Angela's user page because the IP in question is Angela's [1]. Keep up the good work fighting anon vandals. - JCarriker 07:09, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
I asked for a longer block of these IPs in the WP:VIP/LTA. Hope this helps. Awolf002 15:35, 7 December 2005 (UTC)

I know you are interesred in ships. I couldn't find this ship in the dictionary of ships. Maybe someone with an interest in US Navy history would be interested. If not, that's fine. I just picked up the reference in trying to clean up an old article and thought of you.

Oh, I'm always interested in nominating good people before others do <innocent look>, see if you can catch me on irc: irc.freenode.net #wikipedia. I sometimes use the nickname kim_register when I need to talk with people outside channel, due to recent silly freenode policy. Kim Bruning 22:21, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
MALO:
Any specific reason why you are re-sizing tables for ship articles from 360 down to 300? I noticed that when I created some of these pages, when using 300, some of the entries in the tables would be just long enough where they would wrap to the next line. With 360, I found out that the entire line would stay on the same line, and not break into 2. IN other words, 300 is not wide enough, but 360 is. 147.240.236.9 23:17, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Malo; Thank you for asking me to review you and consider a nomination for you. Since you've read my guidelines, you know that I've been watching you for a possible nomination. I will definitely review your contributions. However, it will have to wait until Monday. I am very sick right now, and if I manage to conjure myself out of the house I've got a ton of things to do. -- Durin 02:12, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
Kim Bruning, Durin, I thank you both for your concern. However Kim, I asked Durin on his talk page about 30 minutes before you posted your comments on my talk page. So with all due respect to you both, I'd like to wait for Durin to feel better and then get his honest opinion on my potential. Thank you both again, I'm in no hurry. -- malo (tlk) (cntrbtns) 04:56, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm now working on vetting you for an RfA nom. Due to other time committments today, I may not be able to complete the review until tomorrow. I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that I had commenced the review. -- Durin 16:19, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that I'm in the final stages of the vetting. Most everything is done except reviewing your User talk page contributions. I leave this task to last usually because it's the most time consumptive, and you are no exception :) I like to work backwards at least a few months to see if there's any evidence of incivility, etc. Everything else checks out well. You're a vandal fighting machine...a real nightmare to any would-be vandal :) It think you need a cape with a big "V" (for vandalfighterman :)). I also saw you made 1900+ edits to "USS ..." articles. Are you or were you in the USN? -- Durin 18:39, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for reverting his vandalism on my userspace. I don't know what's wrong with him, he seemed to be a good contributor until last week, then he just went insane. First he accused me of vandalism for no reason announced his departure out of "safety concerns", now he's back. But thanks again. Yeltensic42.618 14:56, 12 December 2005 (UTC)
[
here] and [
here] are the examples of "vandalism" he was talking about. You can see in the first link that the "vandalism" of the Sonic talkpage was only in response to his humorous suggestion, I was only playing along with the joke. You can see in the second link that the swear words were part of a conversation he started about Microsoft Sam with a comment on the first link. The warning he refers to in the first link is when he replaced my use of the word "bulls**t" with "censored by Mr. Clean", something I didn't even notice at first glance, and not really a direct warning; I took it to be just a joke about Mr. Clean, he should have just come out and asked me,"Please don't use swear words on my talkpage." Instead, he just accused me of vandalism, then came and vandalized my userpage.

Per our discussions and reviewing your contributions to Wikipedia, it is my honor to nominate you for an administrator of Wikipedia. In moving this nomination forward, please follow these instructions I crafted for nominees I have nominated. Following these instructions helps to ensure a smooth running RfA. The nomination now exists at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Malo. I'd be happy to review your answers to the questions prior to your posting of the RfA to WP:RFA. Please remember to officially accept the nomination and post your answers on the RfA prior to posting it at WP:RFA. If you have any questions during the process, please do not hesitate to ask. I'll be happy to help in any way I can. -- Durin 20:56, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

I would like to honestly thank you for adding so much information to the Armenia article. thanks again Sumguy333 22:27, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
What do you think about slightly changing the formatting for List of United States Navy ships, A, et al.? I'm thinking of adding live links from the designations of ships with unique names. I.e. instead of
When I filled out and split the list last spring, I just took the format as I found it, but it makes sense to me to have the plain links, since every ship name should have either an index page or a redirect. If the designations were also links, we could see the cases where the redirect was needed.
And, we wouldn't have to keep reverting people who are helpfully 'fixing' the links.
Your adminship seems to be going very well!

I just created an article on the mark 45 5"/54 Caliber lightweight gun at 5-54 Mark 45. I dug around the Internet long and hard looking for more detailed resources than what I was able to find. If you would, please have a look at this article and see if you can improve it. You, myself, and Wwoods (and others?) will probably need to work on back-fitting wiki links onto the various classes of ships that use this mount. Uhg. More shipwork :) Thanks, -- Durin 19:25, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
I see that the current version of Thomas Paine is yours, and that you overrode an edit of mine. Your version contains the sentence 'In 1800, Paine purportedly had a meeting with Napoleon and stated that "a statue of gold should be erected to him in every city of the earth"' in place of 'In 1800, Napoleon purportedly had a meeting with Paine and stated that "a statue of gold should be erected to him in every city of the earth", which is what we had a week ago. Note that the old version has Napoleon proposing a statue of Paine; the new version is vice versa. Is this change based on you knowing something about this? If so, what is your source? I've asked about the matter at Talk:Thomas_Paine#Statue_of_gold, but no one has responded. -- Jmabel | Talk 05:53, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
I've brought the matter to Wikipedia:Copyright problems. Sorry I need help making a decision to revert my edit. -- Perfecto 00:50, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
