Hi - the policy is at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (settlements)#United Kingdom. It's pretty straightforward (and I wrote the initial draft, a few years ago). Thanks for response mate. I can't say I like it, but I guess if we left to judgement whether a place was a suburb or a distinct settlement, you'd just get constant battles "Sutton is a suburb of Birmingham", "No it's not, it a town in its own right" etc. L.J.Skinner wot| I did 14:14, 23 October 2007 (UTC) reply
