Two small updates to Dana Pe'er Biography

Hi @ HickoryOughtShirt?4,

I noticed a few updates we could add to Dana Pe'er biography. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Memberships: Fellow of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Academy [1]

Awards: 2023 ISCB Innovator Award [2]

Also, noticed we could update the ISCB Innovator Award article list.

  • 2023 Dana Pe'er
  • 2022 Núria López-Bigas

WikiCup 2024 April newsletter

We are approaching the end of the 2024 WikiCup's second round, with a little over two weeks remaining. Currently, contestants must score at least 105 points to progress to the third round.

Our current top scorers are as follows:

Competitors may submit work for the second round until the end of 28 April, and the third round starts 1 May. Remember that only competitors with the top 32 scores will make it through to the third round. If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAN, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs. As a reminder, competitors are strictly prohibited from gaming Wikipedia policies or processes to receive more points.

If you would like to learn more about rules and scoring for the 2024 WikiCup, please read Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring. Further questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges ( Cwmhiraeth ( talk · contribs), Epicgenius ( talk · contribs), and Frostly ( talk · contribs)) are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. List of NHL franchise post-season droughts

This article could use temporary semi-protection for a month or two for the same reason that you protected it last year. Deadman137 ( talk) 03:10, 10 April 2024 (UTC)

@ Deadman137: Protected for a week. HickoryOughtShirt?4 ( talk) 23:38, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Fair enough compromise that gets things to the end of the regular season. Thanks again. Deadman137 ( talk) 03:00, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
@ Deadman137: Ya, that was my thinking. It'll end on April 19, which is one day before the playoffs. We will have to see if this continues when the Leafs are swept in the first round HickoryOughtShirt?4 ( talk) 13:55, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
It will continue, it always does. Though around here there are three fan bases more annoying than some of the most "boisterous" Leafs fans. Lucky for me all three of them made the playoffs this year... Deadman137 ( talk) 23:41, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Possible Mastergerwe97 sock

I found an IP editor 172.9.239.10 that has similar interests and editing tendencies that match Mastergerwe97. The locations are not a match but they did admit to using a VPN after getting blocked last year to evade their block and the editing pattern is suspicious. Deadman137 ( talk) 05:09, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

Sock puppets of SNIyer12

I found the following ducks of repeated sock puppet master SNIyer12 that was blocked in 2012 and continues evade their block by using multiple IP addresses all based in Youngstown, Ohio. The current IP addresses they have been using recently are 173.91.195.44, 24.101.112.71 and 24.101.176.50. They always make a series of edits in older team season articles without any comment, they usually make one or two useful edits try to hide from scrutiny and then start being disruptive. A range block is not needed. Deadman137 ( talk) 21:54, 5 April 2024 (UTC)

@ Deadman137:  Checking.... HickoryOughtShirt?4 ( talk) 23:33, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
Let me know if it occurs again. HickoryOughtShirt?4 ( talk) 00:30, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
Will do, sadly they cannot let go even 12 years later. I'll have to monitor more articles to catch their next attempt. I've been dealing with them off and on for a decade so I know their pattern. Deadman137 ( talk) 02:41, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
The 24.101.112.71 is right back at it. Deadman137 ( talk) 02:42, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
@ Deadman137: I made it a week this time. HickoryOughtShirt?4 ( talk) 02:47, 8 April 2024 (UTC)
It will temporarily slow them down. I've been digging into this editors past and I noted that there are times where they will travel an hour away from where they live to Butler, Pennsylvania and continue on with their 12 year edit war as the editing pattern is consistent. Some people can never put down the stick. Deadman137 ( talk) 03:31, 8 April 2024 (UTC)

24.101.112.71 is back at it. Deadman137 ( talk) 00:14, 24 April 2024 (UTC)

Can we get this semi-protected for a few days? Deadman137 ( talk) 01:33, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

Is this still necessary? I see an few edits by an IP but it doesn’t look excessive. I think the experienced editors working on the article have it under control. Please let me know if this changes. HickoryOughtShirt?4 ( talk) 01:41, 21 April 2024 (UTC)
