About thing that look like copyvio

Hi, I see that you've observed that a book with the name Discourse Analysis contains the exact same text as on Perlocutionary act and Indirect speech act. It's a very valid concern that that's problematic, but in this case, that book is plagiarizing from Wikipedia, and not the other way around, which means it does not need to be removed (I cannot see that the book properly attributes Wikipedia, but that's not our problem). This means I've changed your edits a bit. The book we're talking about is from 2016, as stated in its first pages, but the texts in question on Wikipedia are from 2007 and 2006. I had the Who Wrote That? plugin so I could quickly check it, because it's not obvious, which is also why I thought I would explain it here. I had the feeling because I had never heard about the publisher or author before. However, the texts are problematic because they're unsourced, so I've tagged them as such, and in the case of indirect speech act, I think it's a very bad (probably wrong) explanation. But the example of perlocutionary act is okay-ish, until someone is in the mood to rewrite it. So keep going but consider occasionally if the text was copied from here :) // Replayful ( talk | contribs) 15:51, 17 June 2024 (UTC) reply
