The article Alicia Prieto Langarica has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While promising, not enough in-depth coverage to pass WP:GNG, and doesn't pass WP:NSCHOLAR.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Trudy Mackay, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Trinity College. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hi ExtandTor! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as
typo corrections or reverting obvious
vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see
Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you.

I see you have been adding SIAM Fellow recognition to many biographies. Thanks for that. However, many of the biographies you have been adding these to use list-defined references (that is, the references are detailed in the reflist template at the end of the article), and are formatted in Citation Style 2 (that is, using the {{ citation}} template, not the {{ cite web}} template. These formats differ, in particular in how they punctuate the references. Your edits have used the wrong citation format, and therefore violate WP:CITEVAR. Please be more careful to maintain the consistent citation formatting in articles. — David Eppstein ( talk) 19:11, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
Are you responsible for Wikipedia:Meetup/Clemson/Clemson-HON2050-Spring2023? You appear to be the creator of that page, at least.
I am seeing today quite a few new articles that appear to have been created in association with this meetup or course: Keisha Cook, Mimi Dai, Ranthony Edmonds, Nandi Olive Leslie, Karoline Pershell, and Lauren Lynn Rose, at least. About half of those do not appear to meet Wikipedia's notability standards for academics: they are on early-career researchers (assistant professors or postdocs) or people who left academia, who do not have the highly cited publications, major society fellowships (the kind of fellow that means honorary levels of membership given out to recognize well-established researchers, not the kind of fellow that means financial support for a a year of research), etc., that our standards call for.
If it is your responsibility, can you please be more careful in vetting proposed article creations to make sure they are not going to lead to quick deletion nominations and a disappointing experience for the creator? If not, can you pass this message along to whomever actually is responsible, please?
There are many many women in STEM who do meet our standards but do not yet have articles. Increasing visibility for women does not require pushing forward unready and junior academics in this way. — David Eppstein ( talk) 06:05, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Women in Red 8th Anniversary |
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |
