Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
Please choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. However, do not create a new account if you wish to credit your existing contributions to a new name through a username change. To request a username change:
{{
unblock-un|your new username here}}
on
your user talk page. You should be able to edit this talk page even though you are blocked. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.{{
unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our
guide to appealing blocks first. {{unblock|1=My username is intended to be catchy and humorous. It is neither profane nor obscene, though I grant that those are highly subjective attributes. Nor does it attack another, though I have on occasion unintentially stepped on my cat's tail. I am not trying to impersonate another, do not edit under any other names, and am not aware of anyone else using a similar moniker. I use a nickname only to preserve a degree of anonymity. Regarding my intentions on Wikipedia, I would hope that my contributions to numerous articles make those clear (e.g. Blowout preventer, Roller screw and Helical band actuator.) I enjoy Wikipedia as a resource and try and contribute constuctively where I believe I have a degree of expertise. I do not believe my username violates Wiki policy, blatantly or otherwise, thus the validity of the block is not clear to me. I respectfully request that my account be unblocked. If that is not possible, I would appreciate a more thorough explanation for the block than the one given by Toddst1, who, ironically enough, quotes blatant profanity from Dick Cheney on his user page. -- Catsquisher ( talk) 06:21, 5 August 2010 (UTC).

Thank you for uploading File:Pantograph Mirror.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG ( talk) 12:19, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi Catsquisher. Excellent work on Fly system! It needs some tweaks here and there, but overall it's been greatly improved.
You seem to be an especially insightful and objective editor and those qualities are needed in every far corner of Wikipedia. I would like to invite you into one of those corners now and ask for any insights and comments you might offer in this discussion thread about dance terminology. It's possible that I'm being too rigorous, but the ambiguous language used in many dance articles strikes me as problematic. Your objectivity and command of the English language would make you a valuable contributor whether or not you are knowledgeable about dance. Thanks! Lambtron ( talk) 17:59, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Hello Catsquisher,
I came across this photo
and was wondering where it was taken. It looks to me to be very similar to the fly system of a theater I have been in. Thanks!

The article Cam actuator has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your
edit summary or on
the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the
proposed deletion process, but other
deletion processes exist. In particular, the
speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and
articles for deletion allows discussion to reach
consensus for deletion.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current
Arbitration Committee election. The
Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia
arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose
site bans,
topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The
arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to
review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on
the voting page. For the Election committee,

Hello Mr./Ms. Catsquisher,
I am working on a project, and need to include the use of an iris diaphragm. Your design is basically exactly what I'm looking for, so would you be kind enough to somehow make the CAD files available? I'm not sure how that would be accomplished, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Your recent editing history at Blowout preventer shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. - Radiphus ( talk) 18:04, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
